Upon arrival tradesman everywhere and was unable to use the pool, sauna or relax, nails in deck sticking up, other residence smoking outside our room, car park full, property doesn’t appear as nice as pictures, over priced for level of accomodation

CanadaThe bed was not that comfy, quite lumpy and hard - I think it needs a pillowtop or something. The interaction with the staff felt a bit cumbersome and they made me feel as though we were a burden. There were strongly worded rules, strict verbiage and unwillingness to accommodate paying guests, even a tiny bit. I requested a very small compromise to check in early (like 30 mins at the very least) but was refused. With a very late check-in time (3 p.m.) combined with a very early check-out time (10 a.m.), it didn't make much sense that this 5-room hotel couldn't have let one set of guests into one of the rooms early. Especially since the reason given was they needed time to clean but guests are required to do part of the room cleaning tasks and empty our own rubbish bins. Is it an Airbnb or a boutique hotel?? I get that this location probably sees a lot of party patrons, but for the price per night and the location with lots of competition, a little more guest-centric attention and care would go a long way to attract clients who don't need rules and regulations. It was fine for our short visit and it is clear the hosts worked hard to make the place look nice and welcoming. Would just like that nice and welcoming feeling to be consistent throughout the whole interaction.
The room and property were beautifully designed with a true 'Byron" look. simple, clean and has a nice beach hotel vibe. The room was very clean and we liked that they had music playing when we walked in. The supplied bathroom soups and hair products were lovely. Location was nice.

New ZealandThe shower put water a lot of water on the bathroom floor, and an extra bath mat would have been good.
We liked the spacious room, the quiet location, the short walk into town and the beach and we enjoyed the sauna, plunge pool, and outdoor seating. The room was nicely decorated in the coastal style and the beds were comfortable. Cove Studios were great at communicating with us and we easily found the address with their clear instructions.

AustraliaIt looks like Cove Studios has been a bit neglected. Little changes would make a big difference. Little to no privacy with thin walls and entries to apartments right on top of each other. Dark rooms with very basic facilities considering the high price point. Not to mention the Sauna door doesn’t close. I should have paid closer attention to reviews as it looks like these complaints have been ongoing for years. Wouldn’t recommend - you’ll get more bang for your buck closer to town.

Hong KongThe terrible customer service. 1. Poor communication - no e mails re check in, I arrived at the property not knowing it was self check in, with no code for how to check in to my room. It was pouring down with rain and I was stranded with my luggage. Could only access the room because I arrived at the same time as the cleaners. 2. Poor customer service - when I called to find out about the check in the team member on the phone was not apologetic and did little to help, she really couldn't have cared less. 3. Poor communication about debiting my account - they would take money for the room out of my account with out any real notice. I had already paid for the room in full before I arrived, but they also decided to take a $200 security deposit from me without any warning - not great when you're trying to manage your holiday funds. 4. Room and resort were very poor standard for price paid per night, dirty pool, dead plants, dark rooms, old doors which are hard to lock, basic facilities. 6. Advert looks like breakfast is included, it is not. They send you a link for a website for where you can order breakfast - when we clicked on it it was a inactive URL. 7. As no staff are on site, there is no bag storage, I had to pay $20 for this in Byron Bay town. This is not made clear in the advert. 8. No information in the room about the resort or its facilities, wasn't even a wifi code to use! Communication seems to be their real issue.
The location is good, and the layout of the property is nice. Cleaners did a great job - room was clean. Was quiet for a good nights sleep.

AustraliaFridge, toaster, jug and plates etc where in a small wardrobe that on the other side had hanging room for clothes. No microwave. Had to wash up in bathroom basin. TV channels didn't work well. Parking was tight, hard to get in and out of. Didn't see any staff the whole time we were there. No maid service.
Location was great, 100m to a beautiful beach and easy walking distance to Byron. Clean and large room. Quiet location and relaxing.

Australiathere were two main issues with this property - the sliding door situation is very dated and very unattractive. The doors don’t feel secure at all and the shutter blinds are on the outside so someone can easily come and open them and peak inside, very strange. The shutters also still let in a far bit of light, there are no curtains in the property so you are blinded by the deck lights until they automatically turn off at 10pm, the sunlight then wakes you up, not very relaxing. it is hard to communicate with the managers, you have to go through a call centre and then wait for the manager to call you back, our booking almost didn’t go through because it was booked 48 hours prior and “last minute bookings often slip through as they don’t work weekends”, the manager himself was polite and helpful, but overall this was a very unusual place to stay and was more work than it was enjoyable. please invest in new doors and new curtains!

Australia1 When we arrived the cleaner was preparing the room, she had no idea that we paid for an extra bed and therefore she had to make another. Lucky she was there. 2 once we settled in 3-4 lights were flickering. We were preparing to go out and the driveway was blocked by a tradesman so when he came out to move his van we asked if he could replace the bulbs. He did that. lucky he was there and that he was the right person at the right time. 3 The manual sent to us 2 days before arriving mentioned a cook top. I called customer service and they said that that only applied to the Quartets units, not ours. Not clear, we had to change our meal plans. 4 I asked where the spa and sauna were and they mentioned that it was nearby but not in operation. That's a shame, it was one of the reasons I booked. 5 Not the place for a quiet nights sleep. You can hear the conversation next door clearly, including one of the guests clearly sick coughing loudly and vomiting. At 2am. 6 another light flickered for 4 of the 5 nights making reading impossible.
The place has the potential to be excellent because of it bedroom and bathroom and pool. Also good parking and within walking distance of central BB and beaches.

Australiabathroom steamed up and became saturated , manual vent was hard to use as neighbours first floor rear looked straight into the room, 4 towels for 5 days was unrealistic, the shelf rail for fridge was broken and gave away while we occupied room , waste bin too small and no new liners were made available for our use , plastic plants in the room , groundsman using blower way to early in morning , room wasent turned over till we checked out neighbours engaged in either renovations or just very noisy on regular basis’ privacy shutters to main door are broken and show maintenance is required .sauna not working parts were on site maintenance required, and unless mistaken the spa was non existent but shown on web page unless it was on part of site not available for our use , couldn’t find it

AustraliaWe had chosen this accomodation for it's facilities like the sauna and steam room. The sauna was pulled apart and sitting in boxes (like a trade had stopped mid job) and the steam room was non-existent (or at least we couldn't find it on the map of the property). No-one told us these weren't operational and when I called to ask about it during our stay, no one got back to me. So, a bit pricy for lacking facilities.
