It is quite a way from the downtown area, and no restaurants nearby. But worth it. Just need to plan for it.

A wonderful retreat! This place is special, with the rain forest literally outside your door. Very romantic and idyllic setting. Thoughtful extras, including extra towels, sunscreen and bug spray. Great outdoor kitchen set up, with seating area. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Having to leave our little cabin retreat and pool!

Where do we start! We absolutely loved our 3 night stay at this incredible private location nestled in the rainforest with a flowing creek/waterfall right beside us - but only 10 minutes drive into Cairns CBD. Our hosts went above and beyond - thank you Ingrid and Antje for everything and we can’t wait to visit you again as soon as we can come back to Cairns. Already missing our afternoon swims in your incredible pool and drinks on be deck with the sounds of nature everywhere. We will definitely be back asap!

An honest, warm and hospitable welcome by Ingrid the owner. The cabin is tucked in the urban rainforest and is one of only two on site. Bed was comfortable and the aircon efficient. The cabin has a good sized bath and shower above and the on-site pool is great to relax. A little rainforest retreat which is just 10 minutes from Cairns - a car is a must.

Waking up with the forest outside our door every day was like a dream! It's the most amazing place, it has everything you need for a relaxing stay, after we got back from exploring rainforests and waterfalls we loved coming back and having a swim and a spa bath, and the bed was so comfy and we enjoyed a whole day of just lazing around the room, it was so cosy and we loved every minute, the owners were also so helpful and lovely, we were on our honeymoon and they brought us up a bottle of champagne, we would definitely stay again!

If you're a fan of nature and camping but also appreciate a luxurious room then this is absolute heaven! It's a small wooden cottage hidden away on a hill at the outskirts of Cairns city. You're at the absolute edge of the woods; beyond your cottage is the forest and the creek below. The doors of your bedroom open up to a balcony with in view only nature and the sounds of the forest, and the occasional twig or fruit falling on the roof of your cottage. You have a bath tub with jetstreams that fits 2 right in your room and a very comfortable and spacious bed. In the morning we threw open the sliding doors and got back in bed to enjoy another hour of birds singing and brush turkeys coming up to the balcony while foraging before getting up and enjoying a cup of coffee on the balcony. It was phenomenal to stay here. We almost regretted going out for a full day diving tour, because staying in would have been almost as great! We only stayed 2 nights, but had I known up front how lovely this location was I would've gladly booked longer. So to manage expectations: the cottage is an absolute dream! Be advised that there are no curtains (as this is the whole point of the cottage: being as close to nature without compromising the comfort of a 4 star hotel room), but since you're overlooking nothing else but forest the only privacy issues you'll have are with the birds outside. There are only 2 cottages, so the common area (pool and lounge/kitchen by the pool) is shared only with one other couple. The pool is very nice: good size, deep enough for a dive in and very luxurious feel to the outside lounge area with ambient lighting surrounding you on your swim in the evening hours. Everything was very clean and looked well maintained. The hosts were lovely too. I saw some reviews talking about bugs, but we didn't have any problems at all.

Overall a pleasant experience. Just a few things that would have made it perfect. It was a bit disconcerting not having window coverings at night even though it faced the rainforest. A bit more breakfast supplies (people in other tree house ate some of what I thought was for us, left side of fridge). For what we paid I think a bit more fruit and OJ each day. Next time need to hire a car as ubers not plentiful and expensive as location a distance from most tourist activities/locations. Didn't see the owners to be able to ask for anything (a brief wave once).

The property is a bit tired and needs some maintenance : 1. The cabin had a location for the smoke detector but it was missing 2. The toilet door doesn’t close 3. The toilet door scrapes along the floor 4. The bifold glass doors doesnt shut properly and have big gaps above them 5. There are no bedside tables for phones , belongings 6. The television in the shared kitchen area wasn’t working 7. We asked for another bin liner but didn’t receive it 8. The pool bottom wasn’t cleaned of leaves in the 3 days we were there 9. Not much room for luggage

Room on the small side and bed wasn't overly comfy. Also there is open space between toilet and bed which isn't pleasant at times.

Having the rainforest right at the back door, very private, stunning pool (although cold being September), the hot tub was relaxing (but should face the other way so you look at rainforest). The fish on the TV was a nice relaxing touch when we first got there. Owner is very kind and helpful.

Hands down, the best accomodation I have been to in all my travels, the views were stunning, the room was intimate and so comfy! The hosts were so welcoming and really covered many little aspects of accomodation that make such an impact. I have no faults - both my partner and I loved it.

The peace and tranquility of the rainforest. The location - the beautiful cabin. I loved every moment and a bonus it rained. I just love the rain on the tin roof has such a calming effect. Cannot fault this cabin in any way. Host was beautiful as was her beautiful property. The pool area, the bbq facilities all so well thought out. Beautiful. I highly recommend for a romantic getaway in a wonderful location. Location is great as you can be in the rainforest and drive to nearby Cairns to the city life - unlike Sydney's hussle and bussle which was nice.

We loved the unique accommodation...it felt so secluded amongst the stunning natural settings and yet we were only a short 7 minute drive to Cairns City. Was well maintained, clean and we had everything you would need. Host was very welcoming...we would highly recommend to any couple!
