Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThe dreadful management system in use by this property.
The property was well located for walking to Blackheath shops, pubs, and dining facilities, and driving to a number of excellent nearby walks.

AustraliaThe house itself is a little noisy if you have light sleepers but otherwise it adds to the charm and nods to the style and age of the house.
Calamandah House is in a great location, a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood with great proximity to explore the beautiful Blue Mountains and beyond. The beds are super comfortable and the house is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay.

We all thought it was a beatuiful house, really nicely styled, with great facilities and comfy beds. We appreciated the little touches like milk in the fridge and shampoo and conditioner in the shower. Overall we were very comfortable staying here for work.

AustraliaNot applicable.
Calamandah House was chosen for its location in Blackheath, which made it accessible to the Blue Mts walking tracks as this was largely a hiking holiday. The three bedrooms met the requirements of three individual adults ( as we were). The house is extremely well equipped in all respects, including an interesting library. Well kept grounds which would be quite picturesque in spring.

SingaporeI first thought it was a bit sad that people were complaining that the TV is too small (why you go to the mountains to watch tv?) but it is! After a long day exploring the regions and lots of walking, kids were crazy to have some comf food and watch Netflix and the TV is tiny! 🫣 Eletricity was down when we arrived and took us awhile to talk to the property manager but we contacted the eletricist listed on the property book and he managed to get it fixed through a phone call. Kettle was not working and oven only has grill option (functioning).
Comfortable & clean. Location isn’t the best if you are aiming to explore the touristic area of Blue Mountains. Beds And linen were great. Nice amenities too. Great bbq! I would recommend And come back!

AustraliaThe property was great. The only thing that was a slight frustration was communicating with the booking agent could be streamlined and more personalised. Eg. A group of us were meeting up from all over the state and asked in advance if we could get an early check in. I was told this couldn’t be answered until the actual day and I may get no response at all. I followed up with Accommodated to see if we could at least get a 1 hour early check in at 2pm instead of 3pm to allow us to drop our stuff to make it to an event at 3pm we were attending as a group but this did not happen. It made our first night a tricky one to navigate but the actual place is great! The communication made it hard to follow as every email appears auto generated and outlines the same very long repeated terms and conditions. It makes it tricky to find what (if any) new info they are sending you or if you need to respond. It would be a 10/10 stay from us if there was a more personalised or streamlined communication process from them. Not a huge drama - but just made it harder work than it needed to be. The cottage is so cute and cosy that we would stay again for sure!
Fantastic location & cute retro vibe. Amazing heating! Loved the light filled house, the decor, the front garden. It is a really short walk to Blackheath shops for great coffee, bread, all the yum stuff. Bedrooms are cosy and comfy.

AustraliaNot a big deal but we did have to clean a bit as there were still sections under the furniture with lots of food on the ground from previous guest. Good thing was the laundry had the dustpan and vacuum cleaner so it wasn’t hard.
It was very cosy and inviting, and the house heating was very effective. Garden was very pretty even in autumn.

AustraliaThis was a wonderful pet friendly property with a fully fenced yard. Very spacious place to spread out in. Comfy bed and couches with everything you need in the home. Our dogs loved running around the yard. We enjoyed the comfortable stay in this property so much we extended it by a night and we're very glad we did. Hopefully we can come back and stay here again as it was so enjoyable.

AustraliaBedding was not as described. Bedroom 3 was meant to fit 2 mattresses on the floor - this was not possible, which meant for a family of 4 one child had to sleep on a quilt on the floor so they could be in one room. The verandah off the kitchen was unsafe with only a top rail and no balustrade so you could fall through to the ground. The clothes line was not readily accessible with a broken garden bench and 2 large pots containing dead plants under it. Dishwasher was broken.
The location and the garden were perfect, beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked with equipment
