Very close walk to the centre for food and shopping. Beds were very comfortable and rooms were a lot bigger than we were expecting.

The shower in the bath,my mum is 87,a little hard for her to get in the bath to shower,but she managed.The dinner menu in the restaurant was disappointing.I had the bouillabaisse,I was expecting a clear white wine dish with seafood.The seafood was disappointing,the fish was dry,the prawns were overcooked and the mussels were not open.The sauce was like a can of tomato purée heated,with char grilled seafood dumped.

The location if fabulous,the staff are all very polite and engaging,very friendly.The twin double beds ,came with my mum.Slept so well,pillow and bed very comfortable.

Hotel was busy so staff couldn't prepare rooms super early but only little early. There is no work space if you don't have a room yet but an area next to the restaurant which is ok but music is playing most of the time.

Room size, facilities and location were quite good. You can easily get an uber if you want to go out of the city area but a lot of restaurants are near by.

Car parking are limited and the valet staff are rude and discriminate disabled people. Staff needs to be educated about disability and especially in using the disability parking. I noticed there's a lot of parking spaces. But, they installed chains and if the staff are not interested to park your car. They will send you to park in different section and it's hard to park because it was narrow and hard to manoeuvre.

The room was not clean, the facilities are very dated. Buffet breakfast was very disappointing, not enough variety, no vegetable and 2 types of fruit. Breakfast needs improvement.

Staff members very helpful and prompt in responses. Check in was great, great information about the events in Canberra, transport options …etc.

As a group of touring musicians (6 rooms) we need access to rooms as close to 1:00pm as possible to have a rest post travel and prior to a 4:00pm set up at the theatre. Understanding that with staffing issues etc. it can be difficult to guarantee availability we did arrive at 1:00pm to check if some rooms might have been cleaned early. The gentleman junior desk clerk was very sympathetic and found a couple of rooms to provide an early checkin for several staff however he was overruled by a very intransigent female front office manager who stated very forcefully that no rooms would be available until 2:00pm. It made for an unpleasant introduction to Novotel. We were planning lunch while we waited but chose to dine elsewhere. We could also have been offered access to the pool to refresh but that wasn't forthcoming.

The breakfast staff were cheery helpful and the food was fabulous. The swimming pool was a real bonus and well maintained.

Not the hotels fault but many restaurants and shops in the area were shut down and the area had a very run down feel about it :( Very expensive on site parking where they took your keys and moved the cars around to fit people in. Another patron was held up on leaving because his car was parked behind another vehicle who's keys they couldn't locate :(

When the lost bag finally arrived the hotel didn't alert me for a few hours, so not perfect. Hotel staff started to enter dispute do not disturb sign. Coffee pods not refreshed - only two provided and only on first day. Nowhere to put things in bathroom and poor lighting.

Helpful dealing with bag lost by airline. Pleasant room and well equipped.
