How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We're a bit dubious about sharing showers and toilets with other patrons. Saying that, everything was super clean.
It's a bit tired but then, so are we after driving all day! It's a pub.. although, once the door was shut it was surprisingly quiet. Everything was super clean which is very much appreciated.

Absolutely no where to get any food, only chips behind the bar, very disappointing. Changed my road trip back to stay somewhere a bit better value for money.

The room next to mine had an air conditioner on that sounded as loud as a generator which made it very difficult to get to sleep.

It is very old basic hostel type accomm. We didn't get any sleep due to the noisy a/c. And when we turned it off it was too hot. I guess it's all relative to what you are used to and your expectations.
The managers were very friendly, it was clean and hot food was available from the bar/restaurant.

Shared facilities weren't particularly clean or well maintained. Lots of bugs everywhere due to lack of screens.
The staff in the restaurant were extremely helpful and food was excellent. Budget room so was ok for one night stay during our journey.

No toilet or shower in the rooms, rooms stunk, aircon didn't work, carpark a muddy mess, complete and utter rip off, not even a chair to sit on, no kettle or water, absolutely pissed off at spending 129 bucks for the 30 minutes i was there. Left and stayed at the carmila motel 100m down the street. After driving 12 hours and coming to this was not nice, hence why I left and no complete description on booking.com either.

The room smelled really bad and didn't seem it was clean. The AC unit seems to be falling apart held by duct tape. Didn't even look at the toilets and bathrooms. Very dimly lit, felt like a haunted house. There were no other guests. Although I booked and paid for it, didn't spend the night. Just left the keys on the bed and left since there was no one around.
Thought it was cheap and was in the right area for me to stop for the night.

The Manager/Owner who said that the rooms were spring cleaned the day before. Aircon filter filthy, move the beds and the floor filthy, stank of a musky smell. No globe in the lamp. Broken globe sitting with the dead flies on the window sill.
The meals were very nice. It's worth the money. The Bar Staff were friendly and chatty.

The owners were so helpful, booking .com made a huge error and booked us in when there was no rooms available but the owners shuffle a few people around and gave us a bed for the night when they didn’t have to . Shameful booking.com won’t be using you again

Description did not reflect fact that the 'room' was actually a donga with nothing but a bed, broom cupboard & power point. Showers were absolutely horrid. We were told that the "kitchen was broken" when we arrived at 6pm so went without dinner. Would not recommend.

The room is small and I didn’t try the aircon as I don’t like how noisy those old units are. But I reckon it would be essential if it was any hotter. I was a bit concerned that there was only 2 showers (and 1 toilet in a separate location) but it wasn’t an issue at all. Not sure what it would be like if it was busier there and the campers were using the showers too. Please note - these are not complaints- points of information only.
Easy going laid back helpful staff. Totally convenient for where I wanted to be for the night. Has a good pub menu so there’s no need to go out to eat. For such basic pub accommodation I was pleased to be given soap and a towel. Other pubs haven’t provided them. Shower water was good and hot. Kitchen room was handy. Place was clean.
