How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

No slippers or wifi in the room, however I didn't get a chance to ask reception so I'm unsure if it's something provided on request. No parking even though I prebooked.
Balcony, design, staff, location. Young girl on the front desk was nothing but lovely and helpful, appreciated her hard work while under the pump. Other staff were also great and helpful. Comfortable stay, had a great sleep.

• Lamps didn’t work • When I arrived there was nobody at the reception desk so I had to call a number twice to get somebody to come • There isn’t a do not disturb hanging sign on the door handles like most hotels so housekeeping woke me up when I was having a nap and actually came in, had to tell them to leave • On my final night some new guests checked in next door to me and were having a bit of a rager, told security downstairs and dont think he did anything. The rooms are relatively soundproof inside (can hear all hallway noise but not room noise) but they woke me up at 3am because of lots of movement in their room which was swaying my bed. I told the receptionist this on checkout and she did seem to care which was nice.

Lobby smells not really good. Some of the cutlery and plates are not clean enough.

The only window looked into a central interior courtyard type thing but as did the hallways so to have natural light meant people could see into the room - sheer curtains helped during the day.
Didn’t expect much judging from the exterior but I was really impressed with the room! Was lovely and updated, very large sized, great size tv and the bathroom was fantastic. Great value for money, and great location.

Only one very slow lift. House keeping needs some work! No towels etc in bathroom on arrival, same occurred on day two also. Definitely not state-of-the-art as advertised, all cheap basic facilities in room.

Blocked shower drain flooded the entire bathroom. Manager was very helpful. He came and mopped up to make the room usable. One of us got to shower, the other didn’t. It really put a dampener on the whole experience (if you’ll pardon the pun). On reflection I think more could have been done eg move to a different room or a partial refund. We still haven’t heard back from the property to discuss this issue.

Property has roadworks around the block, and that was mildly inconvenient- but otherwise is fine. The bed was 2 singles pressed together, and I kept finding myself in the join, wasn’t super comfortable but it was clean and did the job. Shower was great, room was nice and clean and comfortable.
