Lack of personal contact when checking in and out seems a bit impersonal but I guess is the way of the future. Sockets for usb would be good for those of us who forget to pack an adapter. Only water in the minibar, and no breakfast available, although with so many outlets along the street that isn’t really an issue.

The location is excellent with easy walking access to the shops and restaurants of South Melbourne market area. It was clear that the hotel is in a period of transition, I assume having been taken over and in the process of refurbishment. The diy check in process worked well, key in a numbered box with a code sent by email or sms and all the facilities were operational. It was clear that the room would be excellent when completely finished. I was given a deluxe king room which had loads of space and a separate area to prepare food and drinks.

The hotel offered basic accommodation and amenities. Dont expect 4 or. 5 star hotel service with room service. Some dust in the closet but that does not bother us or affecting our stay. if you are a light sleeper, you might want to bring ear plugs as you can hear light noise from the street.

The hotel reached out to us few days before arrival to organise check in. That’s very useful. Spacious room with small kitchenette. Bathroom was located separately from the room. Location is great, not too far from Melbourne cbd and tram is just outside the door. Plenty of cafes, restaurants, supermarkets nearby within walking distance. Albert park lake is 1.5km walk away. South Melbourne market is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Nick the staff is courteous and friendly. You will need to inform the staff to request the room being cleaned. We enjoyed our stay here and will definitely come back again.

Can be a bit noisy with road and foot traffic, but you are right amongst it so that is the trade off.

Location is great. 4 tram stops from Southern Cross station on the #12 tram, right outside the Hotel. Rooftop bar and nearby cafes are fantastic and the Sth Melbourne market. Great value, super comfy bed and nice bathroom. Would highly recommend

Some walls and doors slightly dirty, but that is a very small criticism. It was fantastic overall.

Being an older building there wasn’t much sound proofing from the windows. We arrived quite late so the bar downstairs was shut. I can imagine you would hear the noise as we could hear street traffic. It didn’t affect our stay and I would stay again.

The room was huge! Included a sitting area with couch and sink with coffee/tea facilities. The beds were super comfy, slept really well. Easy to find, we arrived after hours but the instructions on how to get the keys were very clear. The area is awesome for food, coffee and shopping, all in walking distance.

The smell of oil/petrol in the entrance hall was slightly off putting until we spotted a fuel an hidden on a shelf which was probably the source.

Great location with an easy walk to local eateries and an amazing market. Tram stop very close and an easy walk to the centre. We were glad to be on the lower accommodation floor as we could still hear the rooftop bar music faintly.

the fragrance/perfume from the incent sticks were too strong, but we were able to remove it to the bathroom and the smell was gone. Easy fix .

Felt comfortable, and bed was clean. Quite accommodation in a busy intersection. Easy access, right outside of a tram rail line that takes u straight to the CBD. Big room too. Bigger than I thought. Easy checkin and checkout. HIGHLY RECOMMEND, WILL BOOKK AGAIN

Not really a negative but there's no reception after 5pm. Self check-in is smooth and easy though.

Great value hotel. Updated rooms in a heritage hotel. In the heart of the Clarendon St strip with restaurants and bars right outside the door. Crown and city centre just a 10min walk away. Rooftop bar has great food and cocktails (but service slow and unfriendly).

The location was perfect for our Aus Grand Prix stay with just a short walk to the track. It was also close to food and the food downstairs was great! The rooms were big and clean and had everything we needed. The TV was large and was easy to use and good desk space for working/uni.

The TV was connected to the internet and kept dropping out.

My room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed and pillows and great value. Tram outside the door made getting around very easy . I’m pleased I stayed here and would come back again.
