How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

A full kitchen would have been nice however it had all the basics you needed to make tea, toast, toasties, coffees, sandwiches etc…
So much better than expected! Super convenient, comfortable, clean and modern. Fantastic location, restaurant below was fabulous. Free parking from 6pm -8am and paid rates $2.50 during business. I was surprised how comfortable the bed and sofas was and great value for money. Staff were pleasant and prompt and loved the extra check in check out service. After being absolutely exhausted from another rude staff at Sun & Surf Albert Park on Bleakhouse, the warm welcoming from the lovely staff from the Clarendon was absolutely welcoming. Lift access and great restaurants and location a stones throw from Crown Casino.

Marble road to the hotel entrance difficult to move luggage. Water tap in the toilet sink was very noisy.
Spacious bedroom and large king size bed. Huge television!

No parking available on site but there is a secure parking complex about a block away so that resolved that issue.
Fantastic location, lots of local restaurants and a supermarket around the corner. 10 minute walk to Crown. Room was very spacious, modern and clean. Beds were very comfy and the temperature was easily managed with the use of the 2 split systems. Would happily stay here again!

A very comfortable 4 night stay in the large room with super comfortable bed . Ideal location, walking distance from South Melbourne market, on No. 12 tram route, walking distance to south bank and convention centre. Friendly staff and early check was appreciated.

Lounge is quite dark due to no natural light and also the tap didn’t work in the kitchen sink.

The reception was a little bit confusing but was able to contact staff easily for clarification

The only downside was that we could hear furniture being moved and noise from the top floor above. Which started at 11.30pm onwards unto 2.00am. This is due to the rooftop lounge bar on the 3rd floor. Our room was on the 2nd floor.
Breakfast was not included. The location is very central and easy to locate. For travellers arriving with a vehicle, during the day the only parking facility is metered parking outside the venue. Parking is free from 6.00pm to 8.00am.

Found a shopping receipt from a month prior which was in clear sight & bit of a concern also coffee/tea facilities need upgrading.
Location is perfect if attending event at Crown, short walk, or tram at your door. Huge TV if that's your vibe. Rooftop bar is fantastic too, lovely staff

We only stayed one night as we were heading home the next day from a wedding in Dromana, and it was absolutely perfect! Big windows, plenty of light - the beds were SO comfy! Pub downstairs and a rooftop bar. Easy to check in and out. The location was fantastic! Close to everything - Aldi,. Coles, restaurants etc.

It wasn't close to the trolley-free zone, but that's OK as we only stayed one night. There was a tram stop in front of the hotel, so we could have easily paid the fare one or two stops to get there.
Many restaurants were closed due to the season-many close for the summer holidays. The manager was helpful and the room was nicely renovated- beautiful bathroom and comfy beds. Good price and was close enough to the port. Nice a quiet considering it was on a busy intersection
