Toilet didn’t have a lock, and there was a blurry mirror between the toilet and bathroom, I’d suggest at least a blind for more privacy

The smell in the room was really bad , we bought air freshener odor to get it rid of the smell but the smell keeps coming back. We messaged the owner or worker but we not hear anything from them. So we struggled sleeping for the past 4 night stay there...it was terrible

The location is great because its walking distance to central ...but the room really stink , as we checked in for our first day there was a smell of something in the room it won't go away and we struggled sleeping because of the smell !!

No shared room, tables or chairs, just a bed in a locked room. Someone cleaned the fridge and stole my 3 things in fridge. Fridge stunk even when cleaned out.

There was a lot of junk in the hallway and bathroom was unfinished - it seems like the renovations have been going on for a long time and should probably be finished at some point before more guests stay there. The stairs are extremely steep and honestly a fall risk from the top. There's another loft room that only has a ladder to get up to it as well - thankfully we weren't in there. The room was extremely hot and there was only a heater and fan in the room. The doors opened onto the balcony and we had to leave them open overnight to get a decent temperature to fall asleep. I got lucky with a parking space but the parking is just a permit to leave your car overnight so if you don't get a spot then you have no parking and would have to move your car past 10pm when it's no longer free. Way overpriced for the room, definitely price gauged due to festival

The property is a building site with renovation supplies lining the hallway and the stairs to the share bathroom being particularly difficult to navigate. The stairs to the second floor are not for the faint of heart. Better wait for the renovations to be done. Not for people who have mobility difficulties.

The bed was comfortable. The renovated sections were very nice. For the location it was quiet.

Place needs to be clean as it was messy because of some work happening. Share bathrooms need to be maintained well. No escape route for an emergency.

The house is a construction zone, the bathroom has unfinished floors, rusty grates, literal plants coming out the ground, there's a reason they don't have photos in the listing. There's unfinished construction and various materials all across the hallway and towards the bathroom. The stairs to my room, in the attic, was broken. The walls of the room are covered in mold, which was way worse than it looked in the photos. There were cockroaches in the house, I saw one in my room, two on the way up and one in the bathroom. The host was extremely dismissive and rude, just because a room is cheap, it doesn't mean that it can be in such horrible condition. I ended up leaving in the middle of the night and getting another room elsewhere. I wish I could upload videos so you could see the absolutely horrible state of the place.

Everything... Even had my life threatened. Discriminated against from the beginning. Made me feel very uncomfortable. Especially the illegal camera set up in my room. Under code facilities. Bad hosts. Didn't even say hello to me.

The room was like a haunted room. Even the stairs that were actually climbed looked old and dilapidated. and quite high The room was dark and old and at the end of the attic. There isn't even a door. Looks scary for women The condition of the room is not like the picture the homeowner posted on the website. And there are also pictures of rooms other than the attic. And I didn't think there would be an attic like this. Including delays in sending home access codes or room information. Upon arrival at the property, I still did not receive the room code and information email. The email just arrived at 3am, I hadn't stayed and was trying to get a refund. but was refused The owner offered a new room. But had to pay more so refused when booking the room. I expect to get the room as in the attached picture below.

The clutter and household cleaning/tools in the foyer below the stairs. One box said Mould off - indicating there is mould in the house.

We were not informed that the accommodation was under construction; the rooms were dirty and not well maintained, and some had mould. The sheets smelt like they hadn’t been washed, and some of us didn’t even get a doona, just the cover. The bathroom was mouldy, the shower was broken and dirty, there was no drainage either. We could not turn off the shower as we would be blasted with cold water so the shower was constantly dropping. No photos were included of the bathroom either, which was very misleading. One toilet was inaccessible due to buckets and construction equipment being piled in front of it, the seat was also missing and the door kept getting jammed. There were exposed wires pinned haphazardly to nails/screws throughout the place. There was expired food in the fridge, the kitchen was also dirty and water would leak from the exposed exterior “roof” into the kitchen. There were dead bugs throughout the place, including ants in the sink and cockroaches on the kitchen floor. Overall, the place was highly unhygienic and unkept and felt like a borderline health hazard. The photos online were incredibly misleading, and arguably false advertising.

When I arrived (it was quite late at around midnight) there was no key in the lockbox. I rang the property manager who asked me to knock and try to get the attention of the other guests. When this did not work he asked me to walk around the small passage in hopes that the back door had been left unlocked. When this didn't work, someone came around and they found that one of the other guests had taken my room (obviously had access to my key). They then left a key for an upstairs loft room which was extremely dangerous to get to and from and there was no way to lock the hatch from the inside. When they rang me to tell me there was a key, the property manager joked that he had gotten angry at the other guests as if that was to make my situation any better. The property inside was a construction site, with building materials in the hallway. The fact they get away with $300/ night is outrageous.

I know Sydney accommodation is ridiculous, but this was an experience.. I stayed a week as I just started a new job and couldn't wait to check out. It's like a boarding house, in red light area of Surry hills. Shared outside bathroom downstairs. Stairs to top room looked a death trap.

Bathroom a little unfinished but nothing major

Got a cheap last minute deal for 1 night so room was at very good rate. Exceeded expectations, room was big and bed comfortable, was a cooler night so was a nice temperature and had fan too. There’s a good kitchen and big fridge which was always free to use. Check in was via lockbox and code and very organized. Wifi was quick and stable. Also in ideal location close to CBD and Surry Hills
