How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Probs only that the shower was in the bath

The bed was a bit firm, not terrible but could be better.
Lovely quaint home, has everything you need plus more. Kitchen is well equipped. Easy walk to the shops and is located in a quiet neighborhood. It is pet friendly and well fenced. Check In/Check Out very easy and good communication with the owner. Very clean home. Definitely will stay here again.

It's as per photos eg you can see it's an old fibro cottage so the price was pretty high for that but it's a prime time long weekend in Mudgee so options were limited. Was worth it to be able to bring our dog.
Some really thoughtful touches like a bottle of local wine, some snacks in cupboard and iceblocks in freezer (it was super hot!). Fully fenced yard so dog friendly and had dog bowls. Spotlessly clean. About 15 min flat easy walk into town.

Noticed a couple of the windows don't lock.
Everything you could need and more is supplied.. even condiments & oil for cooking. Spacious & clean. Alistair was very helpful when we contacted him.

Beds could be improved. I would have liked a teapot (coffee pot) and needed a whisk
Alastair has gone to a great deal of trouble to provide everything you'd likely use on a trip away and more by way of extras. The cottage, although showing it's age, was presented perfectly and is particularly cozy. Use of a washing machine was particularly helpful. If you are looking for a base to explore the local area, then this cottage is perfect.

The cottage had everything you needed. The décor was fabulous. It was warm and comfortable! It would be great for either a long or short stay. Also well set up for our dog. We will certainly be back!

Alistair is a brilliant host - the house was warm on arrival - very considerate and much appreciated on a cold winter's day. The kitchen and bathrooms were so well appointed and stocked - including extra towels, which made "living" there for a couple of days a pleasure. Comfortable space to move around or relax for 4 adults and 2 dogs. Much thought has clearly gone into the bedroom appointments and it is the little extras which really make a difference - bedside tables and night lights on both sides of the bed, power boards which include USB and USBC ports. Loads of room in the backyard for the dogs to run around and the space inside for the dogs was also well considered which meant we were not worried about them. Thanks Alistair.

Comfy beds, lots of extras in the property that were unexpected like food in the cupboards and shoe polish, the wifi was great and we enjoyed the wine!

Only one bathroom at the property, not a deal breaker though, would absolutely stay again.
Super clean, nice additional products in the fridge and grocery cupboard, nice outdoor setting.

Big step into the shower recess. Shower door was not stable to hold onto to get in and there were no handrails. My 87 year old mother in law had problems getting into the shower. There were no instructions on how to lock the front door once we unlocked it. The QR code to advise we had vacated the property did not work as it bought up a text but it wouldn't send. Tried 4 times, even after we left the property but no luck
Location is pretty close to places we wanted to go

The house was cluttered and not very clean. There were opened and used food products in the fridge and the kitchen items were very dirty. We booked for two nights but decided to find alternative accommodation. The owner agreed to refund one night

One bed was extremely low to ground & had a very hard spring mattress. our visit was for a family wedding & would recommend a full length mirror & out door setting.
Home was well presented, great location. Quite area. Loved the personal touches & extras provided in kitchen & bathroom.

It was just a few too many blocks from CBD but not a hard walk
