How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

A bit noisy from downstairs before 9pm. Night time was alright. Shampoo bottle broken, staff rushed to buy a bottle of shampoo but I had to wait for a short while to let my daughter take a shower and then she realized that the conditioner container was empty and again I need to go downstairs and ask for help, we waited for a while for that to get refilled. Body wash bottle was broken too but still working. Not really big deal but a bit frustrating.
Location is good. Staff is friendly.

Pillows weren't the best, so a little sore in the shoulders the next morning. No readily accessible powerpoint in the room, they were all behind something or had something plugged into them - but a minor point
Simple, tidy and value for money. Nothing fancy - pub downstairs, everything I needed. Included bathroom which was adequately appointed, Bar staff were helpful and attentive and I got checked in quickly and easily.

Wet patch outside mens bathroom/someone's room. It was easy to step over but the first time on it was a shock to my socks haha. Can hear noise from bar but this is to be expected when staying above one. This is just to travellers who do want a certain amount of quiet, for us its not a huge issue
Staff were super friendly, it was great value for money, comfy beds and good air conditioning. Would come again as it's not too far from anything as long as you don't mind a little walk. Everything was nice and clean, and the shower pressure was good

Could have at least a basic bedside table lamp. Oh, and something resembling a wardrobe. There was not a single piece of furniture for clothes. Walls are very thin as this is an old building.
Great location given the price range as well as super clean. Being very basic, it is not a room you would like to spend much time in. Sitting above the pub it was quiet due to early closure Sun and Mon. Would not book it for Fri and Sat nights if you are a light sleeper. Shared facilities (though we did not use them) looked very clean.

Average cleanliness. Dirty vent and fans. Smelled stale and musty. Carpets need a clean or maybe better still replaced.
Centrally located. Well priced. Great staff. Nice Clean bed linen.

The rooms are very noisy. People slamming doors in rooms that do not have bathrooms (they have to leave their room to go to the toilet so slam their room door). Walls are paper thin so could hear the guy next to my room watching the news at 3am.
Easy access location and nice rooms for the price. No fuss.

Toilet was quite some distance from room and only could see 1 toilet. You had to walk through bar to get to room. Corridors were dark even with floor light in same with step stairs.
The rooms were big. Not too far a walk from the train station, nice eating places around. Staff at checking friendly

The room is too small and the cushions was so old( there are stains all over them) I’d like to believe they were washed and clean, but they looked very dirty, if the stains can’t be removed should consider to change new cushions.
It’s a vintage building located at a quiet but convenient spot. There is a nice pub downstairs, The staff were very friendly and helpful
