Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyAmazing view over the Daintree rainforest and sea. Very nice spacious bungalow with terrace, hammocks, comfy bed, very good shower. Super common area with cooking and more seating facilities. Pool! This place is a real gem. I've travelled the second time to the Daintree.

United KingdomAdvice is to go with no expectations and you will be greeted with the most amazing experience. If you are looking for a no frills and be immersed in the Daintree rainforest this is the place for you! If you are looking for air con, bug free and a false sense of your surroundings I’d look elsewhere. Vaughan was a super host and left us be but was there when we wanted some local advice, would definitely stay again.

AustraliaThere was nothing we didn’t like, just phone reception / wifi is sparse but we’re also in the middle of the Daintree so you shouldn’t be on your phone anyway!
The view is amazing, the cabin is great and the common area is beautiful too. Vaughan was the best host, always had a smile on his face, up for a chat but also gave us our space and made us feel welcomed and safe too (we’re two female travellers). He created an amazing home and we’re lucky he’s sharing it with the world!

AustraliaThere was little information about facilities and shops etc. We were lucky to have stopped and bought supplies in Mossman before going as there is very little in Diwa. You need to be prepared for off the grid living which I was fine with. That is limited internet, tank water and solar energy. There is a generator for back up however but your only cooking facility is a BBQ. So you could call this Glamping I guess. Definitely pick your time of year for this get away as it rained the entire time and there were multiple land slides and waters over roads during our stay. But it did not dampen our enjoyment of the propery.
This was a beautiful solid wooden chalet with pristine views of rainforests, waterfalls and ocean. Vaugh is the host and he a terrific guy very helpful and friendly. The facilities are great for off the grid living. and the stay here is all about the location. Being in nature and absorbing all it has to offer. It is so quiet that nature comes to you. whether your floating in the pool or swinging in a hammock on your private deck. The sights and sounds are amazing.

BelgiumNothing, highly recommended but need to know that you will sleep in the middle of nowhere. If you have anything to ask, the host who lives above the kitchen area, will come and help you. He even let a bell ring if you need him for something.
It was really lovely! If you want to experience a lodge in the middle of the cape tribulation, do not hesitate! A unique great experience. We were 4 people, so two of us slept on the coach which is in an open with an amazing view. We love this experience as the mosquito fillet let us feel completely protected from insects. The host was really kind and helpful. Outside kitchen and barbecue were fully equipped with pans,... Area was roomy as there is only a maximum of 2 lodge. The toilet and shower were clean.

SwitzerlandNo wifi at the accommodation, only in the main building. After a certain time we were told by the owner to stop using the wifi as he had limited data volume. The small fridge cools very poorly - our frozen items in the freezer compartment defrosted.
Super nice view to the sea. Sounds of the jungle animals at night. Pretty, well-kept surroundings with beautiful plants and swimming pool.

AustraliaThe huts are quite open & eco-friendly so there were lots of bugs- bring insect repellent & don’t leave any food out! The mosquito net around the bed did a good job overnight though.
Stunning views and lovely accommodation. Host Vaughan is such a character- he was very funny and helpful. We really had a great three-night stay, I’d say that no other Daintree accommodation has comparable views or immersion in nature. The grounds/garden are stunning and immaculate- was like walking around a fairy glen!

AustraliaWould have been easier to make coffee in chalet but I think not possible because of how the power was supplied.
Beautiful quiet location. Lay in the hammock and just listened to the sounds of birds in the morning. No kitchen in chalet but a good area provided for barbie dinner and making coffee etc. Rustic place but very peaceful.

AustraliaWe would have loved a kettle and/or a coffee machine in the rooms. The additional fold out bed has seen bed days and was quite uncomfortable.
A very special view that immerses you into a full Daintree experience. It’s well worth getting up to enjoy the early mornings and along with late afternoons. Comfortable main bed and clean rooms. Basic cooking facilities and BBQ available in a shared space. Enjoy nature with no phone reception and limited wifi.
