How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The location was perfect, easy walking distance to a multitude of interesting places as well as being only a block from tram, train and bus stops. The apartment itself was interestingly furnished (as in, we liked it a lot, it wasn't just another Ikea lookalike) and the views were amazing. We watched Saturday night fireworks over Darling Harbor from the glass-enclosed balcony. Host Patrick provided a marvelous assortment of foods for self-catering breakfasts. We loved every minute of our stay in this apartment, and heartily recommend it. If we're lucky enough to return to Sydney, I'll go way out of my way to try to stay here again.

Can’t think of a thing except maybe the large full length mirror at the end of the passageway which meant you couldn’t fool yourself that you hadn’t put on weight with all the eating out……just joking!
Central location, so close to all public transport and easy walking distance to sights. Fabulous views to bridge, harbour, ocean and city lights at night very pretty. Lovely sun drenched balcony for morning coffee. Loved the decor, very stylish, had everything you could need, including mix master, blender etc. lots of yummies left in fridge plus condiments you might need. Patrick the owner went above and beyond, so helpful and obliging, always on hand if contacted. He deserves a medal for his hospitality.

Excellent location and amenities, Patrick was a superb host - the flat was immaculate, the fridge generously stocked, and he also let us in early and our friends collect their bags later on check out. The balcony is a real bonus, and the swimming pool also. Would definitely stay again/recommend.

We do like down time at end of day with a veg out in front of tv, no tv in lounge so down time was in our separate bedrooms
Great location easy to get train to airport, close to supermarket and restaurants, we had the pool area all to ourselves!

Nothing, everything brilliant!!
Patrick was a wonderful host!! Met us to organise our car to be parked in the stacker, which was an experience in itself!! Patrick explained where everything was around Sydney and where to go. His apartment is amazing, gorgeous views and walking distance to all the best places around the harbour, The Rocks and darling harbour. Tram and train a few mins walk although we didn't need it!! Wonderful holiday, thanks Patrick 😊

Nothing I didn't like. It was just perfect.
Beautiful, tasteful, comfortable and just wonderful. Everything we needed for a perfectly comfortable stay. Patrick is definitely the best host I've ever had; friendly and super helpful before we got there and during check in. And he's done a fabulous job with this place. This apartment was the biggest part of what made our time in Sydney so wonderful.

Amazing host who is so friendly and helpful. He goes out of the way to make us feel comfortable and feel at home. The apartment is awesome, centrally located, tastefully designed, comfortable with an incredible view. I have been to Sydney many times and this is the best accommodation I’ve ever stayed in. Highly recommend this place to anyone who is coming to Sydney. It also comes with free parking for one vehicle!

Patrick is so welcoming and accommodating. The apartment is beautifully styled and presented, and the view is amazing!! Would highly recommend staying here!! If we ever come back to Sydney, we will definitely be staying here again!
