How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. We were in room 220 which is above the kitchen and could hear the music loud & clear from early morning to evening. We did have our window open for fresh air. If we stayed again, we would ask for a room well away from the kitchen/reception area.

for an elderly couple I felt the shower was positively dangerous! very slippery floor; needs something on shower door to say where to push.

The noise from the room below turning on their shower at 5am. The high pitched squeal woke us as soon as they turned it on. Probably from the taps not being turned on fully. The glass shower door was missing a handle on the inside making it hard to close No breakfast available when we stayed due to Covid but we knew this when we booked.
Comfortable bed, clean, quiet and handy on site parking were perfect for what we needed for our recent stay in Canberra for Floriade. Would recommend and would stay again next year. Modern room styling and design Good Free wifi internet Plenty of on-site parking Shopping centre only 2 min drive or walk.

The water temperature keeps changing.
The room is spacious. I requested 2 beds each room and was given 1 queen and 1 single. Plenty of parking and there's so many kangaroos around the hotel. Facility is clean.

Not sure why a $100 deposit was paid for security and reimbursed within 14 days of check out after the room has been checked. Should a security deposit be requested needs to be return within 24 hrs of check out.

Was a little further from city centre then I realised but not too far and worth the drive for the price point. I would recommend new plugs for the baths as the one is our room only just fit and meant for an interesting bath time of continually having to refill if the plug got bumped but that was my only recommendation and not a detriment to the room at all
Quiet location was lovely and meant we got a very restful sleep after a very early start to get there followed by an early set off the next day. The room had everything you needed and was secure, clean and tidy and well appointed.

Insufficient baggage-handling trolleys upon arrival. Mattresses were unstable and felt old. Shower was almost impossible to control - running hot then cold then hot etc.
Easy to book. Good location, not difficult to find. Plenty of parking. Clean, spacious room (two single beds) with a practical layout. Effective aircon system.

Shower was terrible either freezing cold or boiling hot, and if someone in the hotel turns their shower or tap on you get no water pressure, must be a Canberra thing as other places we’ve stayed all have the same issue. No undercover parking at all, come on guys it’s 2022, you should be able to provide some shelter, our motorbikes live in garages at home and have to sit out in an unlit easily accessible car park all night, not even a gate or fence, thought that was pretty poor

Room was at the front - car park side is better; the carpet was a bit too old and rumpled in our room.
Friendliness of staff; the proximity to Vikings - handy for watering and feeding with no further driving. Liked that we had been able to store two suitcases with you from our stay a week earlier; proximity to Lone Pine for an early morning walk.

The room wasn't well maintained, lots of scratches and dents on the wall and not as clean as I expected it to be.
The staff are very nice. The tv in the family room was not working so they offered another room free of charge so my kids and my parents can enjoy watching.
