How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. absolutely nothing, this property was perfect for our holiday, it exceeded all out expertaions especially with how our hosts treated us all, PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT!!
The location was perfect, the home itself was cery clean, had all the appliances we needed, was bery cozy and spacious.

Minor things - no oven mitt or tea-towels. Otherwise absolutely fantastic!
Loved the coffee machine , the space and the location, the BBQ and balcony were great too! The dishwasher was a treat and so nice to hang with family!

i would love to see the pool warmer. but im a sook for cold water
i loved that this was a home away from home, plenty of space to sit and rest after a hot day, and great eating areas inside and outside. overall i could not be happier with my choice to stay here.

Not a complaint , more an update to assist owners - the powerpoint in the kitchen is loose and the toaster isn't working properly has a mind of its own , the range hood isn't working . One of the guests fixed up the door handle to the ensuite bedroom room .
We liked the location , being an apartment we enjoyed doing our own breakfasts , plenty of towels ect , beds comfortable , air conditioning excellent , especially the fans , great to be able to do our washing on site.Close to supermarkets , bus stops , mall . We walked with ease around city , to waterfront , historic sites . Owners were very approachable before arriving in Darwin and whilst staying at apartment .

Nothing, we were thrilled with our accomodation.
This beautiful modern 3 bedroom apartment deserves a solid 10. There was nothing to fault. The beds were very comfortable, the lounge area and furnishings very restful , 2 spacious bathrooms, laundry, etc. We were very happy we booked here, it was central to everything, and had a woolworths store 2 mins away. We didnt swim, but the pool looked magnificent. The owners were wonderful to deal with, very helpful and available.

Can't think of a thing.
The accommodation was very clean, a great size for 5 adults- we loved the croc themed decor. Good location, even though in the CDB was quiet. Walking distance to Woolworths and BWS. Owners were very easy to communicate with and went out of their way to answer any questions.

Payment terms seemed a bit sketchy at first (bank transfer only, transfer a deposit up front), but it was totally legit and not a hassle (as long as you have an Australian bank account)

only very minor - dryer not working, many of the fan switches have no signage so not sure where to turn for a speed, shallow kitchen sink and water sprays everywhere if you’re not careful, no light near/in the shower so quite dark
location was amazing! in the city, short walk to supermarket, shops, arcade, waterfront. had everything you needed. handy having a dishwasher. really friendly owners

Having to pay a deposit and payment by cash transfer rather than credit card was nearly enough to get me to cancel the booking. The fact that the apartment provided 3 bedrooms in a very convenient location just balanced out the fact that I hate doing bank transfers and was rather taken aback, after booking through Bookings.com, to find that credit cards were not accepted.
The hosts were very friendly and easy to deal with and promptly returned our deposit. They were also most amenable when we had to sleep someone on the couch due to unexpected flight changes.
