How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The restaurant was closed, couldnt even get a cold drink. thus, no ambiance. room wasnt cleaned during our six night stay. ants in bathroom. cold room.

staffs: no greeting let alone a smile, never asked about your stay, working 10 am to 5pm. safety: nobody around meaning nobody to answer to any emergency, front entrance door never locked surrounding: untidy surrounding area, plants and trees aren't looked after, hallway never sweeped and pool has lots of leafs

Hotel is a little dated.
Location was close to airport. Hotel coms was great as I arrived after midnight so received a hassle free check in process to collect my key. Bed was comfortable and all amenities supplied.

Rooms were not very clean, the walk to the rooms were littered with rubbish - dirty glasses and bottles. hot water was unreliable and you have to turn on the hot water at the sink and then the shower for the hot water in the shower to work

It's a bit run down. The bathroom door wouldn't close. Took awhile to get air conditioning to get up to speed but good once it was there. Don't like the uht milk on the shelf. Cold milk would have been better.
It's good enough for the night. Pool right beside my room so that was great.

Dirty Fans, dirty floor, cupboards fell apart, problems with toilet. 3 lights not working. 2 Light switches were busted. No staff to speak to after the inital interaction.

The bathroom did not look like it had been cleaned. There was drops of urine and pubic hair on the floor and around base of toilet as well as hair in the shower. the restaurant didn’t seem to be open at all. The website said our booking price included a light breakfast but the restaurant wasn’t operating and the office building didn’t seem to be open whenever we were coming or going. the pool wasn’t very clean and the spa didn’t seem to be working.
the location is good and feels secure. the room is a good size with comfortable beds. tv and aircon worked well. the staff were friendly in the brief encounter during check in.

No room services and reception available. ( We leave morning and come back in evening. Light breakfast not available although it was mentioned at the booking.com website.

Young adolescents always hanging around and asking customers for smokes and were very loud all hours of the night.
It was in a great location close to the city centre.

The guests were a little noisy, children running around and 2 people arguing in different rooms on the 2 days I was there. One of the light fittings was missing in the bedroom and the shower didn't have any hot water when I needed a shower early in the morning (3:45am) before I took my flight leaving Cairns. Couldn't find a drop box to leave the key in before the office was open so had to leave the room unlocked with the key sitting inside.
Easy access via car to shops and restaurants. Off the main road, has a swimming pool and great ventilation into the room via the screen doors. Staff were happy to answer questions and the bathroom had a large mirror as well as a mirror in the main room.

Building could be signed better to find from the street. I had to exit early Sunday and there was no key deposit or instructions for that.
Room was clean, neat and easy to find. For what I paid I thought it was good. Washing machine and dryer were free... great. Airconditioning was excellent
