How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

When the weather turned very cold! The gas heater was fantastic, the whole house was nice and warm.

Just a touch up of the bathroom floor would have been good.
Very clean (except behind bathroom door). Nice cosy little house. Heater was on when we arrived which made it very welcoming.

Hostess was professional but very friendly, super quick to reply and help before we arrived. On arrival, all was as stated on booking.com and by the hostess. All bedrooms had power sockets in easily usable spaces. Toilet was separate to bathroom which was great with adult family. Lounge is large. Everything is set up for 8 people as described. Host has S&P, some olive oil, tea/coffee, sugar, milk and some fruit already for use. Very helpful. Will stay again on our trips to Bendigo in future instead of in motels.

Only there for one night so nothing to dislike really.
Ideal for a layover on way to Grampians. Close enough to city to walk in if you wish. Ample parking. Beds comfortable.

A spacious, pleasant and homely place to be. Had everything we needed. It was clean, comfy beds, covered parking, fans made it cool and comfortable, kitchen was good. There was even a bottle of wine to welcome us. We would happily stay again if in the area.

There was nothing that we didn’t like.
Spacious rooms, lounge, dining, bathroom, laundry, everything you need in a kitchen even down to cooking oil. Even had wifi. We loved everything.

Due to staying away from home I love to make pancakes for brekky & for that you need a non-stick pan or flat sandwich press, a plastic flipper & spray oil plus good washing up supplies. There was no spray oil & an empty oil bottle, the plastic flipper was broken & very short & the other was a fat bbq scraper that was difficult to use in the pan. There was only a used grotty dish pad & no scrubbers & we couldn't find any t-towels, so that was difficult to make breakfast & clean up after ourselves.
A gorgeous place inside & out, comfortable, fresh, clean, could easily hook up Netflix, & with 2 queen beds & 2 sets of bunks I'll def book this one again for more people, this time round though was myself & a client & was cheaper than booking a hotel at this time of year, so much appreciated. Also I overpaid & when realised it was no trouble to receive the excess. Large carport with night lighting, seating out front & back, gated all around, bbq, good shower & decent sized bathroom with sep loo. Key was in lockbox & we didn't have any trouble. Thanks so much Sandra for a lovely stay.

Nothing -it was great.
The house is as pictured and Iocated in a very quiet neighbourhood within a short drive to the centre of town. It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable with attention to detail. Strong wi-fi, large smart TV and a good older gas heater which worked really well on one colder night were appreciated. All you need is here. The smallish yard has a nice garden. The owner is easy to communicate with and very helpful.

Would have been good if the kitchen had more teatowels, a hand towel, and a roll of kitchen paper.

Price iss too expensive. $250/night would be a bit fair.
I like the chocolates provided with enough blankets provided where all movies can be watched through the Smart TV.

Curnows was a lovely house in a quiet suburban street close to Bendigo. It was easy to find and had the added bonus of a carport at the front so the car was undercover. The full kitchen was also great with plenty of cookware. The weather was chilly but the gas fire kept us very warm. We loved our 2 night stay.
