The property had been damaged 3 weeks previously and there was water in many of the rooms. The motel only had power for our one room. I felt a little concern for the safety of the place, and would have appreciated knowing about the situation previously. This is a lovely motel, but could do with some work as well as the repairs.

The approachability of the staff. The host was very willing and available. The atmosphere of the place was lovely, relaxed. We were glad they were able to accommodate us.

it needs some investment by the owners. could be amazing and fill many niches in the area. there are few food options so make sure you stop off in Mossman and get food before you take the barge over.

We stayed only briefly so to be too critical would be unfair. Overall, the room looked/felt tired and also lacking in some basic facilities (eg. only one cup and plate for 2-person room). The greatest annoyance were some chain-smokers outside their room. We had to keep our door closed - not ideal in hot humid conditions. A smokers corner away from bedrooms is needed.

Location was lush and green. It's Daintree - what's not to like about that. Reception on arrival was very good. Pleasant local man who showed us around and to our room. Well rehearsed info and thorough in his knowledge of district.

Barbeque needs replacing. Bathroom could be cleaned a little better, mould in corners.. Need better selection of glasses, coffee mugs. 3 single beds in cramped space, only 2 were needed as booked for kids. TV didn't work in the room. Wifi not consistent/ hardly worked.

Welcomed by friendly staff, given a tour, lovely grounds, places to relax and chill. Quiet. Location amongst rainforest ...beautiful. Pool area lovely. Double bedroom lovely. With nice bedside tables and lamps.

No hot water but as it is solar in the middle of the rainforest I wasn’t really expecting it. Wifi was patchy but again to be expected. We didn’t use the pool as were only there overnight.

Water supply to our room disappeared 3 times during our 2 day stay. Problems with the bore system apparently was the reason given.

Surrounded by forest and bird sounds was magical. The pool ringed with exotic trees was a fabulous place to spend a hot afternoon. Very welcoming and helpful staff.

The bbq area needs an upgrade, carpet needs to be replaced in the bedroom, there are no coffee cups, only tiny tea cups. The kitchenette would benefit from a small cooktop and oven as dining options are very limited in the area. There is no tv in the rooms either

The location deep in the Daintree forest is quite magical. The rooms are quite large, the beds are comfortable and the water is hot. The pool is also nice.

The motel is desperate for updating. There is not enough towels , cutlery , plates or cups to go around all the rooms. Bbq area is grotty. It is a lovely location which could be incredible with some love and care.

Location was beautiful. Cam is a wonderful host who tries really hard to make his guests comfortable. Cam is knowledgeable about the area and gives good advice. Pool is lovely.

Only one teabag in room and even though I asked for more, they never materialised.

Lovely aspect in the rainforest. Room overlooked grassed courtyard. En-suite facilities, wifi, limited kitchen in room. Very pleasant, clean and quiet. Manager Cam was very chilled and helpful, suggesting places to go/eat. He recommended Lync-Haven for an evening meal, but we found we weren’t able to eat there as we weren’t staying there! Went to Crocodylus Village in Cow Bay instead and it was excellent.

That it is not living up to potential

The property has soooo much potential, however, Cameron (manager) is NOT supported by his head company. He is working so hard and often subsidising his parent company with basic hotel expenses. Shame on Birch hotel group.
