The shared bathroom, and especially shower, has seen better days. Plus the cleaning lady didn't know when we were checking out even though we told her 3 times (we stayed 3 nights) and each morning tried to do the check out clean in our room which was a little annoying. Plus our queen bed was 2 singles pushed together which during the night kept deciding to be 2 singles again haha

Loved the feel of the place, and the gentleman who looked after us was super kind and helpful. Even when our room key didn't work one night at 1am he was so kind even though we woke him up for assistance, he was super sweet and sorted it out for us straight away.

Really poor communication. I messaged them a few times through Booking and never hear anything back at all. The shared facilities are great but be aware that things kept in the shared fridge are fair game for other guests to help themselves. Would have been good to have an allocated space in the fridge or something like that as it was packed up with only a few guests shopping/food with no space for anyone else. No “ house rules” or anything and thus our food was consumed by others. The mini fridge in the room was great but too small to keep much.

Lovely old house in a great location. Plenty of parking. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. The bed was king size and very comfortable.

Just a few small issues: the bathroom exhaust fan was really loud. Plus it was a disabled bathroom so everything got wet from the shower as there was no shower screen or curtain. I understand that for wheel chair guests they can't have a screen but it would've been nice to have the option to pull a shower curtain around. The other complaint was a small one with the iron and ironing board. The ironing board had no padding, so the metal holes on the ironing board showed through onto the garment when you ironed. Also, the iron was splattering water everywhere. Luckily the clothes I was ironing were black otherwise it wouldve stained them. But these are just minor issues.

The room is lovely and quiet. The curtains are so thick and dark you have no idea what the time is in the morning - so nice to sleep in! The bed was comfy. The setting of the hotel and gardens are just lovely and its only a short walk to some amazing cafes / shops. Plus not far at all from the stadiums in Homebush. Being able to park safely on the premises is another big plus.

Bed very comfortable. Room lovely. I took the shared bathroom option. Unfortunately not everyone is as particular as me in leaving the bathroom pleasant and tidy. Would stay again but not with a shared bathroom

No sink in the room

Convenient location as arrived by train and had an appointment at Sydney Olympic precinct and then early morning flight to international terminal so went to Strathfield station. Lovely old building with huge rooms. Shared facilities but managed ok as close by. Air-conditioning in room was well received as a very hot night.
