Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaDidn't like the food options, although the options that were available were quality food and great service. I felt it could have targeted the kids more around the pool area especially in school holidays. Would love to see a cafe, cheaper options for snack food. Would love to see resort games by the pool to get the kids interacting more.
Loved the location, loved the staff. Especially loved the coral and Sealife exhibit. The kangaroos were also a hit! Plenty of things to do. Great that the other side of the island was open as well! Gave us a new location to visit.

AustraliaThere are issues with accessibility for those mobile impaired when it comes to all their pools- not one hand rail to help people get in and out safely. Also, the service was really good- until it comes to getting lost property back. I’ve emailed and tried calling the team- no response despite it only being about 30minutes after I checked out that I realised I left clothing behind in the cupboard. 2 days later and still no response to my email/front desk haven’t picked up my calls. Disappointing taste. The dining is good but staying there 6 nights, you get a bit bored with dining options as the lunch menu is the same as the dinner menu at Salti. Would be good to have basic sandwiches etc available for lunch.
Great having the free activities each day. Trivia is a lot of fun! While $50pp, highly recommend baby stingray feeding. Staff are very friendly. Handy being able to see sea life without getting wet by going to their under water observatory!

Daydream is a lovely little island, the spa day was absolutely superb and so relaxing. From rela ingredients in the pool bar, to the short little walk throught the rainforest to the lookouts. Lovely staff and so very helpful also. Having a room overlooking the marina area was lovely watching the sunrise and wildlife roaming around was very lovely.

AustraliaVery limited food options. I was shocked on how poor the options of food were. You stay isolated in an island with only 2 restaurants available that barely have vegetables and salads in the menu. There is not a cafe or a small grocery shop where you can purchase snacks, fruits or yogurt. I ordered a guacamole from the shack and the corn chips were soggy as if the bag has been opened for a while. Kids menu options are unhealthy and there is only one option of pasta for adults and kids. A vegetarian would struggle in this place to eat. I was extremely disappointed with the food options. The playground is quite basic and there is no much entertainment for smaller kids besides the swimming pool. With that being said it is pretty hard to keep toddlers entertained.
The resort itself is not bad, bedrooms renovated and fairly new facilities in the main area of the resort. But the older part of it is pretty dead like a ghost town, sports facilities pretty old and not taken care off. The snorkeling options are all enclosed in tanks rather than open in the ocean, and pretty pricey for what it is. Not proper sandy beach to swim due to the reefs. Outdoor cinema was not working.

United KingdomHalf the property was closed down. No more mini golf and the second set of pools was abandoned and shut down. Wind was full on the whole time we were there no no water sports and snorkeling had zero visibility so there wasn’t much else to do other than swimming in the main pools and looking at the reef aquarium. The whole place could do with a spruce up, a good clean and a lick of paint would be wonders.
Big natural living reef is amazing. We did the guided fish food which was amazing too. Cocktails were yummm. The big main pools were lots of fun and the restaurants were delish. Our favourite was infinity, amazing Asian food! All the staff were incredible and super helpful.

AustraliaRoom service requests were slow and our room was not serviced on the second day of our stay. It would be better if pool towels were available by the pools.
The pools are lovely. The massages were fantastic. The aquariums and fish on display are amazing and really special to enjoy. Jetski hire was fun - highly recommend this activity.

New ZealandCheck in was scripted, and the person who checked us in stuck to the script and did not show empathy for us when we shared concerns about things that were not as we expected. The room was extremely moldy. Every time we entered we felt the impact of the mold and, when we got home, our things smelled of mold. I do not recommend our room. It could be a serious health hazard.
The location was amazing. The pools and facilities were lovely and well cared for. During the day and in the various experiences around the island, staff was present, and helpful. Our patio was gross with old food and cutlery from previous guests and feces from the animals. We asked for it to be cleaned up on the second day and it was taken care of within a couple of hours.

AustraliaNot enough activities for kids. Only available activity are 2 ping pong tables, which is more for older kids. There is a kids communal pool blow-up castle, but it wasn't made clear it was communal from the start. Food is expensive and subpar at times. $55 for a steak, and it was for only a steak and 5 asparagus, no carbs on the plate which leaves you feeling unsatisfied.
Pools were kid friendly. Swim up bar is a nice.

SpainWe found the food menu at the 2 restaurants a little bit limited, maybe mix it up or rotate throughout the week. And on the breakfast Buffet, maybe add more gluten free and dairy free options.
Surrounded by azure waters, Day Dream Island Hotel greeted us with warmth and hospitality. Little did we know, the true surprise lay in the unparalleled friendliness of the staff, who eagerly assisted with every aspect of our stay from the moment we booked. From organizing activities to seamless transfers, their proactive approach ensured an stress-free experience. The Reef Rangers program/activity immersed us in the wonders of the marine world, while the array of water sports on offer at the other side of the island were amazing. With each moment, Day Dream Island Hotel revealed itself as a hidden gem, surpassing our every expectation.

United KingdomThe public areas of our wing seemed a little run down and unclean. Salti’s restaurant had gluten free options which was good but the gf pizza base was not nice and it was disappointing that they used this same unpleasant base as a substitute for crackers. There are many many gf crackers on the market so please buy a packet and learn how to make gf dough rather than use cardboard pre-made pizza bases.
The hotel foyer is beautiful. The pools are lovely with plenty of loungers. The hotel provides special towels to use at the pool. We were at ground level and had a balcony. We were often visited by a cockatoo, kangaroos and curlews. It was wonderful to be so close to the wildlife. The breakfast buffet was extensive and good quality with good gluten free options.

AustraliaHad to ask 3 times for a cot (even though we requested a cot when making the booking). You need to book restaurants well in advance as they become booked out and you will have to get room service (they did not give us cutlery) and sit in your room (we were here for one night and would've loved to have gone out for dinner). Few maintenance issues as well: shower had a problem with the mixer so it would get incredibly hot even when you were turning the hot tap down, the fan in the bathroom was broken. It was quite dusty in the room (understandable with the aircon on) and there were quite a few ants on the furniture. No baby sitters
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We got a surprise beverage on arrival. Kid friendly and food is yummy. It was also very peaceful on the island and the island is very clean from litter. Amazing aquarium experience!

ChileFood service for dinner and lunch was terrible. Restaurants all booked and the food was really basic, drinks at restaurants were bad. Service was okay but still it’s unacceptable to receive orders 15 min later than rest of table etc. Also the hallways of the building with old wet and dirty carpet was disgusting. And plenty of cockroaches around rooms and hallways.
Great location, and amazing activities around the island like kayak. Rooms looked clean and were comfortable.
