Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaDaylesford is busy with tourists on winter weekends so a little too much road traffic for the balcony to be super relaxed and peaceful. Room is compact so despite great design u still need to be neat and organised. We wished for a few hooks somewhere. No coffee plunger provided so glad we brought our own.
Location was great, accessible to almost everything by foot. Loved the wide shared balcony overlooking main street, great for a drink or a meal. For us the balcony and design were the x-factors that swayed us to choose this accomm and we weren't disappointed. Design of the room, decor and fittings were superb. I suspect they used sustainable materials too (eg bathroom tiles?) which, if true, gets a double bonus from us. Appreciated the efficient and easy check-in when we arrived and even easier check-out. Kitchenette facilities in the room were great; cleverly packed in a lot in the small space while keeping it all very easy on the eye. Ah the joy of thoughtful design! Simple but neat contintental breakfast. All facilities, incl. aircon and overhead fan worked well.

AustraliaFor elderly people the stairs presented a challenge especially with luggage. There is limited parking but we were always able to get one.
The location was outstanding. The staff were exceptional and the food of a very high standard.

AustraliaSlightly noisy in the morning as located on busy street with cars driving by. Night time is quiet.
Newly renovated. Room has good size. Very good location on the street of central shops. A Coles close by to get some fruit or water.

AustraliaI found that there was some noise that carried up from the hotel's pub and gaming rooms, which were underneath my room. I always travel with earplugs which I used for sleeping, and was out for most of the day, but I would have liked a quieter room for relaxing in the evenings. Anyone wanting peace and quiet might like to check ahead regarding room location.
The room had ample space. It was furnished and decorated in a modern style with subtle colour scheme. The bathroom was spacious, with a huge double shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. I stayed during winter and was kept warm and comfortable with the room heater and electric blanket.

Australiaabsolutely freezing in the bathroom, (yes it’s winter) but there was no strip heater, the floor was freezing, if you had a large block of ice in there overnight it would not have melted! we asked for an extra blanket for the other room which as next to the freezing bathroom and not serviced by the aircon and were told they would have to find one. We were provided with another bedspread(coverlet) and were told the room was like a sauna! hmmmm when a customer tell you they are cold then give them a blanket. We were told at that point too that there was electric blankets on the beds! I absolutely cooked during the night despite turning the aircon down to 25c because it was belting out in to the room I was in but wasn’t heating the room my friend was in. There was no microwave although there seemed to be utensils for food.
great location, big room, breakfast box of cereal, muesli bar, popper juice and UHT milk provided which was good as hotel doesn’t do breakfast, plenty of cafes around that do. Very nice food in the restaurant, service was prompt.

AustraliaNothing really.
Easy check in. Right in the heart of Daylesord. Friendly staff. Lovely old heritage hotel, but renovated and modernised inside. Spotless room with a bonus breakfast pack included. We only stayed one night as were travelling further north so were not dressed for the cold. Restaurant staff directed us to a table in front of an open fire which we didn't move from. Had a really good vegetarian meal plus locally brewed beer on tap. Happy days!

AustraliaRoom service…. They did not wash breakfast bowl or glasses, dirty towels were put back on the towel rail, the bed was not made, bins not emptied. The un even stair access to street are likely to cause someone an injury.

Australiabed too hard, and pillows too flat. Also the spa would have taken a long time to fill up and we abandoned it and took shower instead. Since this accommodation was making a point of advertising the spa, we thought it poor. The room was cold at times, and took a long time to warm up, especially as we spent some time in the day in the room.
The staff were excellent and welcoming. The bistro was pleasant.

AustraliaThe shower dripped all night and there were no towel rails to hang and dry the towels after use.
The room was recently renovated and in a style that was both modern and also sympathetic to the age of the building. There was plenty of space in the room for luggage and table and chairs.

AustraliaAs noted in other reviews, we knew it would be a bit noisy. On a Wednesday/Thursday night the rowdiness downstairs had toned down by about 2300, so not too bad. There is however a loud garbage truck round at 0600 that invariably woke us up.
The location is excellent, just a stone's throw from the main district and the lake. The parking around the back is also useful. The spa bath in our room was also a nice addition. I liked the complimentary breakfast boxes, but you should take the short walk to Panchos instead.
