Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe apartment had about 100 stairs which were great for photos but terrible for getting in and out and even going from bedroom to lounge/kitchen or bedroom to bedroom. Literally nothing is on the same level and it's truly awful. The room looked absolutely nothing like the images used to advertise, it was lacking with uncomfortable chairs and a tiny couch compared to what was in their photos this was disappointing. I had issues with reception not informing me about the car parking situation in their own building and ended up with a fine that they refuse to get back to me about. Entering the rooms is an issue, we had 4 people staying and only one room key which was a physical key but you needed a key card to access the elevators. It was a pain the whole time. I would have expected to be paying far less than what they are charging for experience of staying here.
The view was beautiful, location was nice but not ideal, amenities within the apartment are good but not easily accessible.

AustraliaNo air conditioning. The room gets surprisingly warm very quickly. The fact that reception is on the other side of the bar, walking through with bags and things is really uncomfortable with plenty of people in there.
The design aspect was really intriguing.

AustraliaThis was our first time staying in the apartments not the hotel rooms. We loved the idea of the lake view. it was a great view but the noise from the road below was really amplified and we found the apartment way too warm for sleeping. the solution - to open the balcony door - meant very loud noise and therefore we were left with the option of leaving the door open when we were out. overall, it was uncomfortable and not what we have come to expect from the brand.
Ovolo Nishi is a wonderful concept and a fabulous location. The experience in the foyer and the hotel rooms is really stylish.

AustraliaThe rooms really felt quiet dirty. Walls were dirty, bathroom dirty, mirror etc. Just didn’t feel nice and fresh and not for the money either. We were told to help ourselves to the free mini bar and items in the fridge, it was empty. Ordered a cocktail to the room. It was gross and over priced.
The location was great as was the lolly bar and everything looked great in reception.

AustraliaExtremely disapointed with the vegan menu. We live in a country where the majority of people eat meat. We like to get room service and eat at the restaurant when we treat ourselves to stay at an expensive hotel. We ended up having to find alternative food which was really inconvenient . I’m certain the majority of Australians eat meat, so I found it shocking that the menu was vegetarian only. I think when we booked, we should have been warned about the rediculous vegetation only menu. The other problem is that there is no air conditioning. We left the door open to try get some cool air in at night but the noise from the motorway was too loud. It was a very uncomfortable sleep. I would expect these things in a budget hotel. We were charged $750 per night for this below average stay We booked the room for 2 nights but decided to leave after the first night, so it cost us $1500 for 1 night of discomfort
The design of the restaurant and reception was nice

AustraliaI booked this apartment for my parents 50th wedding anniversary & from what they have told me it wasn’t the most enjoyable stay, Looking over main road, flashing lights in room, made it really hard to have a decent night sleep, got stuck in the elevator for 5 to 10 minutes, photos of room on the net did not reflect what they got, it was very clean though & staff were lovely
Mountain views were lovely,
