Exactly as advertised, awesome dugout experience with great amenities. Nice big spa is a great bonus, and Di the perfect host, even provided a fire pit and wood.

Myself, my partner and two friends stayed here for one night and had an amazing stay! Could not of felt more homely. Di has the place looking amazing inside and out. Super clean, plenty of towels and also delighted the property had washing machine. This accommodation was exactly what we were looking for after a long journey traveling from Melbourne and for a chilled night away. We got great use of the bbq outside and had a dip in the hot tub. This place is suitable for all ages and we got great use of the board games! Di couldn’t of been more friendly and helpful towards our stay and also gave us some recommendations on what to do in Cooper Pedy! We throughly enjoyed our stay and would 100% recommend to a friend.

We stayed at a property previously to staying here and I didn't like that we just didn't stay just at this place.

Such a great place on the edge of town that was quiet enough to relax but close enough to all of the town's facilities. It was quite hot (39-41 degrees for the 6 days we were there), but it was a pleasant temperature the whole time inside. Di the owner was very friendly and we will definitely stay there again.

We loved staying in Dinky Di's Dugout! Di was lovely, the dugout is amazing, and staying in a dugout is a must do activity if you are travelling through Coober Pedy. Di's had everything we needed, all the comforts of home, in a quiet location, which was easy to find and had so much room!!! Could have stayed for a week. Thank you so very much Di! Highly recommend!!

TBH we found it a bit of a hot sleep with only one aircond at the other end of the house. Mosquitos bugged us a bit during the night. The pros well outweighed the cons though, just bug spray the bedroom before you retire and you'll be right.

Very unique and spacious with all the amenities you need. Extra touches from the owner who obviously takes pride in her property. A relaxing comfy feel to the whole place. Lots of useful info on the area and a comfy outdoor hang area.

Would have liked more darkness. Some windows allowed light in and a sensor light switched on and off through the night. Couldn’t figure out how to switch it off.

The spa costs $15 extra which is totally reasonable but it is quite cold to have a spa after dinner. Hoping that the owner could mention it to us.

Having to leave!

We were expecting something of a compromise being a dugout in the side of a hill but upon entry found out Di's dugout to be totally opposite of that. This is a an incredibly comfortable home that Di has created over the years featuring facilities that exceeded our expectations, the cosy lounge area with the open fireplace (we didn't need to use it) was very inviting, I had trouble getting my wife and daughter to leave there to go out on a few occasions! The two bathrooms were very well finished and the shower in the main bathroom was spacious, I'm 6'3" and a little overweight and had plenty of room to move and dry off without bumping into walls, a pety dislike of mine where bathrooms are the size of shoe boxes. Did I mention it was quiet? Very quiet and peaceful and dark of a nighttime but well lit during the day. There is a covered/shaded outdoor area with bbq facilities and a large table and chairs which was pleasant to sit in out of the sun and protected from bugs etc, a spa is next this but we didn't use it during our stay. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable. I can't think of anything that Di could add to improve the facilities. Di's local knowledge and advice as to where to eat and what attractions to visit were very helpful and spot on. We will return to Coober Pedy at some stage and couldn't think of anywhere else we would rather stay.

Di the host was amazing and accommodating to our needs. Didn’t meet in person due to circumstances till leaving but Di rang us after arrival and pointed in the right direction for sights and dinner.
