The door that we were apparently supposed to use to enter the hotel was labelled "Use other door" and the other was locked. We walked around the entire perimeter and reluctantly entered through the gaming room. Check-in took a long time. The manager was very friendly and helpful but other staff (who were the first we encountered) were quite disinterested. There were cigarette burns in the quilt cover and sheets. Bright floodlights outside were on all night and spilled through large gaps in blinds and bathroom window. Fortunately we had leave early each day so were awake before the neighbours ducks and chickens started their cacophony! Other guests in the hotel arrived "home" at 3am - the rooms are not at all soundproof so any noise in the hallway carries through and the room doors close very loudly - hence these guests opening and closing their doors multiple times was an unwelcome interruption to our sleep. Nearby train line noisy until/unless you are used to trains.

Room and ensuite were clean and adequately comfortable. Location was convenient for the event we attended. Ample, fenced, free, off-street parking with security cameras. Original 50's bathroom tiles and stairwell bannisters may have been kept to save costs but they are in near mint condition and add character.

this is a pretty budget option, but a bit of proper clean and dust wouldn't go astray ,and staff just extending a little good manners when checking in would go a long way particularly to feel safer and more comfortable. I wouldn't have felt comfortable staying there on my own.

Bathrooms have low to no airflow (no fans, no window), expect to find mould. Live and dead cockroaches found. Unable to raise with staff as no one onsite before 10am.

There were so many cobwebs on the external part of the windows, they were really thick. It really made the room appear so dirty especially given how small the room is. It may take a little effort to do a deep clean- but please, do it! You may get repeat guests, but not for us.

When we arrived and spoke to bar staff it seemed we interrupted a "discussion" they were having .. and by discussion i mean there was clearly some in fighting going on. We felt awkward standing there listening to them figting over why someone wasnt covering the bar. Next i was asked for a $99 security fee which is fair. But what i didnt think was right was a photo copy of my card. This isnt secure. What happens to paper after leave?

The room was clean well. There was unclean mirrors, bathroom with pubic hair on floor and not cleaned hygienic around toilet, bath tub etc and no light in the bathroom.

The fact that there was a hidden fee of $100 that I was told would be refunded but I'm still waiting for it after almost 3 whole months is a big turn off

It was very difficult to book in without an actual credit card (until the bar tender decided she could manage without it). The shared toilets are communal and contain no air freshener or any other product to make them more bearable and the room doesn't even have a mirror in it. So unfortunately you can't even do your hair without being subjected to the smelly toilets. The toilets and showers are combined and there is only two on the floor. So you wouldn't want to be trying to get ready for work at the same time as everyone else.

The hotel closes at 4am, information that is handy to know before you book. If you stay here expect to hear patrons below you getting features on the pokies, music from the hotel, the races from the TAB. The fire alarm going all night (apparently that was not working) How can you rent out a room without a working fire system? Patrons yelling at each other after the hotel closes at 4am. I almost forgot the best part, the doors from the shared toilet and shower banging all night when other people went to the bathroom. Do yourself a favour, find somewhere else to stay. If you want to sleep, don’t stay here.

Coackroaches greeting us as the dorr opened. Then seeing them throughout the night! An alarm sounding noise that was on day and night from the fuse box (i think thats what its called). Being told at check-in that our deposit will come through staright after check-out. Called them later on during the day to follow up on deposit refund (we checked out at 5.30am) only to find out from another staff member that deposut by card comes through between 2-3 business days or even after 1 day (depending on what bank you're with). Overall it was a HORRIBLE experience and the coackroaches were BAD!!!

The rudeness of the night manager threatening to cancel my booking because we were late, die to GPS malfunction. Then demanding $99 as a deposit. To add to this I had to kill a cockroach as soon as we walked in the room and the bathroom hasn't been updated in over 30 years with green tiles and a cheap bin that was covered in rust.
