Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Australiathat as a loyal customer for 10 years and booking two rooms every time , when I requested to downgrade I was asked to pay more !!!! really !!!
seemed more like a backpackers hotel. no shampoo and conditioner when already in shower, watery body soap that I ended up using on my hair. There was hair in my bedding and on the towels in the bathroom. roof cracked in bathroom. I had booked two rooms and similar sooty in both! in short did not feel like a $400 a night !!!

AustraliaOur room was tiny.. like there's small and then there's tiny. We barely managed to get around the bed with our suitcases in the room as well as us. The bed was less than a metre away from the glass door that led to the common stairs outside but... surprise... curtains were broken. The bathroom was so small you had to lean on the radiator to use the toilet. What we viewed on the website and what was delivered were two very different experiences. Stains on the towels. A creaky old cupboard. The poor girl who worked the desk had no idea how to help us or what to say, so we just booked somewhere else.
Not a lot. We stayed one night instead of the 3 that we booked and moved accommodation (and we only stayed that one night because we got in late afternoon and need to rest after 4 hours of driving).

AustraliaFor the cost ( compared to other accom we have stayed in on Mt Buller) the room wasn't very well appointed. We had expected a fridge and some glasses at least and a few coat hangers,

United StatesStaff- Almost everyone, from check in to the restaurant (except the female Spanish girl and the male staff) were very cold. They told us we needed to pay an extra $5 for internet but said internet is “bad anyway”. Check out was strictly at 10am, no exceptions. Only one staff was at reception, handling check in, calls, equipment rental etc. No one explained to us how to get to the resort, from the bus stop. When we arrived, it was raining, and we were told we couldn’t take the shuttle bus as we had luggage. The Inn is 3 kms uphill so walking with luggage on icy grounds and on a rainy day, was not an option. Had to pay $70 for a rideshare to get to the Inn. Had we been informed, we would have packed duffels (allowed on the shuttle),without needing to wait (Rideshare has to be booked in advance) in the rain and pay a lot for transpo when there’s actually free shuttles. Location- far from the village, although there’s a shuttle that runs every half hour. There are better options close to the Village. Cleanliness- when we arrived, there was a used tissue on the carpet and no one bothered to clean it up. After skiing for the morning, the only area to change is a tiny and dirty /stinky powder room near the reception. Amenities/facilities: none. Bathroom only had soap and shampoo. No hand/face towels or rugs to wipe off wet feet. Staff said they’d turn on heating only at 4pm, but never did. At night though, since windows were airtight, and there was no air conditioning, it became very warm. Drying room was stinky and useless. Only a few portable dryers were plugged, to dry out several ski gear, shoes, clothes and socks of all guests. Pretty much useless even after leaving your stuff overnight they were still wet. Paid close to $1000 Aud for this one. Certainly not worth it.

AustraliaIt was agreed in advance that gluten free could be catered for at breakfast, other than bread with no alternative toaster that was it!!? If you ask for assistance with a table for example for kids card game or colouring in late in the day or at night it was always to hard. If you asked for a coffee the barista wasn't available all the little extras that I feel could add to a great outcome and more return for the venue.
The location was pretty good and the room although small was clean and tidy.

Australia*restaurant should consider their guests since the room is not fully equipped with cooking stuff, should consider that most likely your guests will book breakfast, lunch especially dinner . the staff didn’t bother to make a way or offer take away since we have a baby with us. * no phone on the room or intercom or any list of number to call - that is accessible to ensure breakfast, lunch or dinner time, we need to google and dial . * staff didn’t care for family expect with baby on how would things be -maybe ask prior , upon booking things that are needed. *lack of bin in the toilet. * I have to clean the dirty electric kettle. *no teaspoon or spoon and glass in the room.
location is fair .

AustraliaIf you stay at Duck Inn, expect to be spammed with political messages. Following my stay there I’ve received messages from them via email and on this app telling me to vote out Labour (yes, they spelt it incorrectly). Regardless of what concerns they have, I do not expect to receive political messages from hotels I stay at.

AustraliaThe lady who showed us to our room didn’t tell us the lounge was locked at 9.20 pm and breakfast finished at 9am . When we complained and turned to walk away one of the staff called me a Nancy !! You need to wait 45 minutes for a random shuttle bus to ski run and if it’s full you can’t get on and wait for another
We were sitting in the lounge after our very bad $600 dinner , chips soggy , entree looked like dog food and we ordered a bottle of wine and the lady vacuumed around us then told us at 9.20 pm Friday night to go to our room ! Turned up for Bfast 9am and was told it was closed and we were not told on check in but them told there was a sign at check in desk . Bed bugs , kids too itchy to sleep

AustraliaThe room had a bit of damage in it. The bathroom very cramped and with radiator heater too close to toilet (the handle to turn it on literally touched the seat) you would touch the radiator with legs when sitting on it. Advertised as having restaurant. Even had it in email communication. However restaurant was not opening for another few weeks. Literally chose it for the ease of having the restaurant. The rooms were very cold over night. Paid extra to have a fridge but it wasnt there and had to remind them. Phoned to ask about taking service dog, the lovely girl on the phone wasnt sure of the rules so asked to send email through to managers so i did. Never received a response.

AustraliaBathroom was like a motel room, shower was awful and usually didn’t have hot water (only mildly warm). The only soaps etc in the bathroom were in dispensers which hardly functioned and were again barely motel quality. No information was provided at check-in so we had no idea about the hotel facilities. We stayed for 5 nights and there was no room cleaning or even emptying of our room bin ie. No housekeeping at ALL. The facilities in the room are BASIC ie. We paid $30 just to get a fridge in the room so we could add milk to our own tea. Breakfast started at 7:45am, which is not early enough to be able to have breakfast then get to the lifts by 8:30 for the first lifts. The location is about as far from the ski runs as is possible to locate the accommodation- no serious skier could possibly consider staying here. The actual room was noisy ie. I could hear music and voices until late in the evening from adjoining rooms. The drying facilities for ski gear does not dry anything that is wet, it will dry things that are mildly wet, but the drying room is so inadequate that it is also used as a storage room for luge for guests as they come and go. Breakfast is very basic. We paid over $1,000 per night for a room without a view and with the most basic of facilities and zero housekeeping - I have stayed in caravan parks with better showers in their shower blocks.
Not a lot to like.

AustraliaHad trouble sleeping because of the noise but staff did something immediately. Smelly odour coming out of the toilet. Would have been nice if the restaurant was open for dinner too.
Prompt service, had an issue sleeping because of the noise and it was immediately rectified! Reception staff, specially Bianca, was quite nice and helpful. Good thing they had their own ski equipments for rentals, avoided the hassle of queues at the centre. Overall aura of the inn was pretty good, quite and cozy.
