Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

We tried calling the hotel reception multiple times to see if someone could come up and at least give us fresh towels however the phone never got answered so we had to come down to ask the staff for anything

New ZealandThis is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and both times the cleaner didn't make it to my room on time. The first time my room hadn't been cleaned by the time of my check in and the second time they didn't come while I was out, and I needed to go back to the room to sleep. The main problem was that the air conditioner was broken. The first night it was freezing cold and I tried to fiddle with it and that made it far too hot. The second night someone came to fix it, said that other people had been having this issue. The air conditioner was fixed temperature but on a very high setting, blasting a lot of air on and off so it was very annoying. The staff member was very nice and said they would try to give me a discount but then didn't. Also the elevator was broken which wasn't a problem for me but they should have communicated that beforehand because for many people it would be a massive problem. The staff are really nice but they are all occupied with the bar downstairs (which you can't hear upstairs, so that isn't a problem). And so you need to wait to get anything done.
The hotel has a good location and the beds are comfortable and the sheets are high quality.

AustraliaOur only complaint would be the aircon outside our bedroom - The Churchill room, was quite noisy and on constantly - perhaps it could be sound proofed or the window double glazed as this wouldnt open anyway.
We loved the decor and the proximity to restaurants and cafes. It was so easy to use the fob and the staff were really pleasant. We could highly recommend this to any age travellers.

AustraliaOur room on the first floor was right next to the upper level bar and balconies. It was extremely noisy and we found it difficult to get to sleep as a result. This room should have been cheaper than it was or not used as a bedroom at all.

AustraliaThere were no cupboards or drawers to store clothes. Just a hanging rail. The coffee / tea facilities were reminiscent of an outback motel. Seriously?! In Melbourne, and for the price, I'd have expected real coffee, not a sachet of old, stale granules. There was nowhere comfortable to sit. The couch provided in the small, dark, dingy lounge was really uncomfortable. My dog's bed provides more comfort than this did. A cake of soap in the bathroom is preferable to a tube of body wash, especially in the hand basin. Really poor value for money, accommodation wise.
The bar staff were friendly. There's a cafe down the road that serves the best orange juice!

AustraliaOur allocated room, Hemingway, had an issue with blocked toilet. The lady, presumably weekend manager, was very helpful and promptly offered a move to another room suggesting it was an upgrade. However replacement room, Brunswick, was significantly smaller. There was no offer of a partial refund and although she offered us a restaurant meal as compensation, neglected to mention dining room closed on Monday which was the day we planned to take up the offer. Room carpet could do with a good clean as many stains. Storage limited. Shower screen could be a fraction longer as didn't protect floor from spray adequately. Room wasn't serviced over weekend and towells were getting pretty skanky by monday. Overall would have expected a bit better at the pricepoint.
Location good for our purposes. The lady that helped me with some issues was very friendly and helpful, however ...

AustraliaToo noisy. Could not sleep. Walls vibrated from noise down stairs. Not sure if there was a band playing downstairs? As I was travelling alone, I felt uncomfortable to go down stairs to find out. Would of been good to be notified from accommodation if this was the case, as I would of booked else where. I only wanted to be close to my son who lives in Brunswick.
Close to the city. Could watch Netflix to block out some noise coming from down stairs. Good size bed.
