How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Driveway was a little narrow and some other customers did not know how to park to allow others to enter / exit easily.
The place is a genuine 1970's / 80's build but for what you pay and how long you actually stay in the room it is perfect. The owner allowed us to check in 3 hours early which helped greatly with our travel plans.

Great location, we fell in love with the beaches! We had a 2 night stay and was perfect. Great size apartment, doors to a little garden area, separate living space and bedroom, fully equipped kitchen. Neill greeted us on arrival and gave lots of good tips, especially the Thai restaurant next door, it was beautiful! Great place to explore Esperance! The national park is a must to see Lucky Bay, Thistle cove etc. Twilight beach was beautiful too, spoilt for choice! Supermarket and shops just 5 minutes walk!

Needed a few more things in the kitchen - no scissors, no oven proof dish. Lighting was poor in the kitchen/lounge - no table lamp only the overhead, but that was too bright to relax under but not bright for cooking under.
Helpful owner (though unless we'd found him purposefully we'd never have met as our key was left in an envelope for us) and good location. Good space but could have done with better lighting in the living space. Parking directly outside, garden view.

Oversized outdoor table and chairs inside took up too much room and was ugly, out of place. Couch was sagging badly in middle, uncomfortable to sit on. Pushing you both together. Frying pan unusable. We went to kmart and brought our own to cook with. No dvd player as stated. Mismatched op shop plates glasses, and cutlery. Cheap matching sets at kmart would be nicer. Shower leaked all around toilet area. Ant problem.
Close to beach. Private. Spare towels in bedroom cupboard. Good storage. Nice private patio. Functional for price. With a little bit of attention to detail and spatial awareness,, could be a really nice motel.

While 'Beachfront Resort' is a bit of a stretch, the unit suited our needs for 2 nights. The staff are friendly, helpful and keep the place very presentable. Easy to self cater or dine out nearby.

This place is quite outdated, it appears to have had no renovation or anything since the 80's, except for a new tv maybe. Cold lights in the kitchen etc., it is not a very cosy/pleasant place to stay.. But I guess given the demand it gets booked anyway so I wouldn't invest either.
The location is excellent, pretty close to everything in Esperance. The owner is very friendly.

It was nice & quiet. The staff was friendly, Welcoming and informative, the unit was clean, tidy and perfect for us and our stay. The location is excellent as its a short casual stroll into the town centre , it had a lovely calming beach front across the road ( not good for swimming), it was well lit and it had a beautiful back area to relax in. There's a Thai restaurant right next door, so you could either have dinner there or order take away and have a nice night in with a few glasses of wine and enjoy the sea air. I would definitely stay there again and I think it was value for money and it was ideal for us for what we wanted from our getaway. We did not think to take pics of the unit but I did do a video of it. Which I'm unable to post.
