Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. AustraliaCommunication from the company. We called 6-10 times in 2 hours and got put on hold or told they’d call us back with an update of the cleaners and when they would come to clean the room. We had a crying baby and a wedding to get to and they just ignored our calls and didn’t update us. We had to leave with a dirty apartment and unable to shower and get ready prior to leaving. And our baby didn’t get to have his sleep so was screaming and crying. Really ruined our whole start to the weekend and experience. Also, it says it’s a sofa bed. It’s not it’s just a couch. The curtains are partially hanging off. Not overly taken care of. Stains on carpet. Massive thumbs down for us.
Location was handy with Coles that we needed to go to get cleaning products for the apartment as it wasn’t cleaned for when we were meant to check in.

AustraliaUpon arrival 5/12/23 it was hard to find out where the lockbox is, video reflect it’s somewhere else to where the lockbox actually is. When we got into the apartment notice there was only quarter roll of toilet paper, plus no internet access had to ring up 3 time after a 7hrs journey. In total during my stay I had to ring up 6 times. Sova keep on insisting that the cleaner have left 3 toilet rolls I look high and low, every drawers and cabinets there wasn’t any. I kept saying to Sova there is definitely no toilet rolls left by the cleaner (it felt like talking to martian). It’s not I’m hoarding toilet rolls. Then the next day I was told that the all cleaners were too busy cleaning therefore toilet rolls can only be delivered in the afternoon(my opinion is guests are not important, cleaners are). The day we left there was still no internet (kept on saying, recharge or get more data). Would I stay there again or be recommending it to friends it's a BIG NO!
Overall like the apartment which is clean and especially the location near to where I wanted to get to except for the vanity unit sink takes quite a while for the water to drain.

AustraliaFirstly, it was very hard to find the lockbox from the video they had. It would’ve been much easier to use written instructions instead. Once I found the lockbox, the pin code they gave me was incorrect. I spent hours outside trying to contact them on their “24/7 support number” and email and didn’t get a response for a while. Very frustrating as all you want is a smooth check in after travelling. They managed to get back to me and gave me a correct pin. Come checking out, they wanted to have the keys returned to the lockbox, I contacted them the evening before checkout to confirm the pin code, they gave me and silly me didn’t think to check to make sure it works. Now the morning of checking out, of course they gave me an incorrect pincode. Again, tried calling them with no success so I had to leave the keys inside their apartment as I had a flight to check. They finally got back to me a while later with an updated PIN code and I informed them that the keys had been left inside the apartment and guess what? They tried to tell me I had to pay $50 for failing to return the key to the lockbox? Like where is the common sense in this? They really need to improve their customer service as well as their checking in and checking out process because what a joke. The apartment it’s self was nice, could have been a lot cleaner but it wasn’t too bad. Good location as well.
