The bathroom setup is a little awkward. By no means a deal breaker, just feels a little tight. The fluorescent lights in the kitchen are also a little harsh (but that’s just nit-picking).

The fox and hounds is a great choice if you find yourself in Port Arthur: comfortable, well-equipped and with a great restaurant on site. We enjoyed our stay here and loved the views over the lake. There’s also a laundry on site - very convenient if you’ve been on the road for a couple of weeks!

Food and drinks were a little expensive. There was a lot of mould on the bathroom blind when it was pulled down.

The room had an overwhelming smell, seemed to be from cooking in it previously. Cleanliness was okay, but there is evidence it doesn’t get high attention to detail, such as the dust. It’s strange that the beds are on wheels on laminate floor as the bed moved around a lot! Dinner was excessively expensive. We didn’t order a single main, only kids meal with an entree, side and salad with a soft drink and beer and it was nearly $110!

What amazing views from the room. A cute little spot and the food at the restaurant was so delicious-one of the best tasting meals we’ve had on our trip. It is a shame about the expense of it. It is also really close to the historic site and other attractions.

Location of hotel just 1 kilometres from Port Arthur. Room very generous size with large windows overlooking lake.. very nice setting. Hotel offers evening meal, decor is English Pub style , quite fun.

They should keep salt and pepper sachets in the kitchen. Try to give water in glass jars etc. Currently, they give plastic bottles. Admittedly, the bottles are made of recycled plastic. Still.

The place is beautiful and has a nice old-world charm to it. They upgraded me to an apartment. Their restaurant is cosy, beautiful and serves quality food. Kitchen in the apartment was properly equipped too.
