Fantastic location, close to town and perfect for walking around Lake Sambell

Located close enough to walk into town but far enough away to be tranquil and peaceful - perfect for coming home and relaxing with a drink or two on the beautiful verandah after a busy day of exploring. The cottage is beautifully decorated with lots of little extras which makes it feel like a home.

A comfortable and elegant home away from home - everything you could want is there. The level of attention to detail is the best I’ve come across renting many homes over the years - phone and watch chargers, plenty of power outlets where you’d want them, everything you could possibly want in the kitchen (including pantry basics), clear instructions on heating, garbage disposal etc and on top of that so elegant both inside and out. A nice walking distance from town to aid digestion on the way back from dinner, and close to the lovely walk around Lake Sambell at sunset.

Nothing to dislike

Everything! Fantastic little cottage and very comfortable. Would definitely recommend. It’s a bit out of town from the Main Street but still within walking distance. Also close by was the lake which is nice. The cottage itself has everything you need and is beautifully furnished.

The bedroom and living room don’t get much light.

We loved our stay at the French Cottage. The location was perfect - right near the lake, the bike trails and a short walk to town. The attention to detail is fantastic and the property was clean, very comfortable and well stocked with anything we needed. We enjoyed all the outside areas and the garden is beautiful.

Beautiful house with gorgeous gardens & veranda to sit out on & enjoy. Furnishings were comfortable, plenty of different spaces to relax in , outdoors & inside. Nice big bathroom & one bedroom had a lovely ensuite. We could all walk into the Main Street. Nice & quiet area.

The house was perfect in every regard! The only thing that could be improved on were the diffusers in the bedrooms, which were a bit strong.

We had the most amazing time at French Cottage in Beechworth. Upon arrival, we were greeted with locally made crumpets and wine, which we enjoyed in the natural light-filled dining/living area. Additionally, the garden at the back was beautiful and well-maintained. Overall, we would definitely stay at the property again!

We loved the French interior decor with room scents in every room, sumptuous comfortable beds and well-appointed Kitchen. We also loved the garden! The little things like soaps and creams in the bathrooms and magazines in the living room just made our stay all the more pleasurable!

The no shoes inside policy because of the white washed floors makes it quite tricky to navigate the garden at times and the living area is small for the number of bedrooms as well as dark but these are small issues. Unfortunately the dryer wasnt working when we stayed there but the manager Jo was very good at communicating this on our arrival

It didn't matter whether the sun was shining or bucketing down with rain, French Cottage was comforting and cosy. The heating was exceptional and the bed and bedding was top quality.

We love homes with history and French Cottage was a wonderful blend of old character and new conveniences. The property was spotlessly clean with everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. The kitchen had all the tools required to cook up a storm and was stocked with essentials and treats for pre dinner nibbles on the verandah, terrace or in the beautiful French inspired garden. We were spoiled for choice. The beds were super comfortable, the showers hot and the couch so easy to sink into. Thank you to our host, Joanne, who gave us lots of useful information and was so responsive to all our questions. There were only three of us for this trip, and we loved it, but we look forward to returning with a larger group of friends or family to really give the dining table and kitchen a work out!

The ensued toilet was not working properly when I rang to have it attended to the manager said "what do you sant me to do about it?" Not professional at all. It was never working properly for our 4 day stay. Everything else was perfect
