Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaThe hotel is obviously undergoing some renovations, as when I got there I drove straight past, as it looked derelict. The sign for the hotel wasn't even working, and there was a lot of junk and plastic sheets at the front. It wasn't an issue for the stay but was very confusing at face value. I honestly thought it had been closed down. Also sleeping was a little cold as bedding consisted of a thin blanket with a sheet. Though there was reverse air con.
The room was spacious and comfortable. The location was pretty central and free parking was a bonus.

It was near the trainstation which took you to CBD in 20min.

United KingdomThe fridge's freezer needs a defrost, guys! :) I confess, I don't understand why there was so many sheets on the bed, and that has me think of the cost of cleaning them all. It felt unnecessary. There was three or four sheets. The remote control seemed a little tricky. Might need a new battery. Regrettably, there's some kind of construction fencing out the front. It's an eyesore, but not a big deal in reality. I feel sorry for the premises though, as it caused me to drive past it first time. So, perhaps someone reading this might be guided by that--look for the fencing :). But, don't skip a stay here because of it because the service was terrific, and the room. It was a nice little haven.
The service was outstanding. The reception guy was just wonderful. Cheerful, quick to arrive at the desk when you walk in, very helpful, kind, seemed caring. I also loved the old-fashioned provision of shampoo, soap, coffee, tea. I also appreciated there was a box of tissues in the room.

New ZealandOpen space downstairs for cooking. Showers didn't line up with edge. No elevator for people with heavy luggage. Nothing much to complain about otherwise. It seems as though it is under renovation so possibly good things to come!
Beds were clean, staff were helpful and kind! We had an issue with the room and the staff immediately apologised and provided us a different room. They were very apologetic about the issue, we actually didn't mind too much, can't help what's out of your control! The ensuite was a good size and the beds were pretty comfy. Place was amazingly clean and beds were crisp! Little fridge in room and jug but no other cooking facilities that were private.

AustraliaNoisy, traffic and under a flight path. Room had some renovations, but was still dingy in places. Parking access difficult due to steep entry and exit points. Our car scraped on driveway. Management wouldn't let us check in an hour early. Saw a rat run across the driveway at night.
Well located, close to train station and 7 eleven. Loved the shower with the large showerhead. Communal sitting area was pleasant.
