Mattresses are old and squeaky. Quiet time at night would be a good idea. Was a bit noisy at night. People talking loudly etc.

Friendly atmosphere. Locals visiting the bar are lovely. They had pizza night and live music the night I stayed which was fabulous. Had a really nice time there. Would stay again.

We did a quick stop here before going out to Heron Island. Charlie who runs the place was very helpful since we arrived 1:40 AM in the night. Was a nice and easy breakfast available in the morning. very good price compared to a lot of other places with the same condition.

In short, I guess you get what you pay for. This place is really cheap - so we didn't have high expectations... But I think it could have been cleaner. The couches were ripped and smelly, the cat was eating from a bowl on the shelf of the eating area and we got bed bugs :( . The backpackers is on a residential street in a seemingly low socio- economic area. We listened to quite a bit of domestic shouting/swearing/screaming the one night we were there. We left feeling dirty.

Some shower doesn't have hanger, so make sure before you take shower there's hanger in your shower. Also lounge area is a mess and smelly.

Well, the room is nice, toilet as well. They provide breakfast as well.

I was just there in the wrong time I guess whilst a group of youngsters were partying hard so I realised as a homebody couple , it was just not the best time for us to be there.

When booking a double private room, make sure you say you want air con, (especially this time of year) otherwise you have to pay extra. Although only $12. The guest fridge had some spillages at the bottom that, looked and smelt, like it hadn’t been cleaned, for a while. But otherwise a good place to stay.

Stayed for two nights. The breakfast options of cereal and toast were good, good variety. It’s in a nice quiet area but not to far from the centre. Main areas, and bedrooms were very clean. Friendly staff. Overall good impression, would recommend and would stay again if ever passing through the area.

The communal kitchen was quite unclean and some of the facilities are worn or under repair.

Penny was an absolutely fantastic host. She went above and beyond to make us comfortable, the shower and toilets were fab and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Great additions such as outdoor games.

Wi-fi upload speed is slow, nobody around for check in when arrived so took a little time to get access to our room

The only improvements I could suggest are having somewhere to hang or place belongings in the shower cubicles. Also, having towel rails in the rooms would be handy too. The beds are comfy but a little noisy when you roll over.

The property is located in a quiet street but close to Goondoon St and the Marina. It is a great set up with good access, multiple communal areas and nice sized rooms that are not overcrowded.

Wanting to sit in the common areas but cant because they play music from sun up to sun down. There was no one sitting in the comunal areas for this reason. No social activity. But maybe if they let people be and didnt play music 24/7 or at all.

Handy to have a car however the shops are only a 10 minute walk

For a small hostel this place has everything! A pool, hammock, outside and inside kitchen facilities, bbq, big tv with loads of couches and a bar. Came as a solo female traveller for the night and ended up staying for the weekend, staff were incredible and went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and included. Lots of activities on offer and an overall perfect vibe! Will be coming back when I go back up the coast. Thanks for the amazing weekend!
