Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaJust a couple of things that could improve the property: kitchen appliances were a little difficult to use and lighing in the lounge room could be a little brighter. Not a criticism, just advice for families: there are stairs, so keep this in mind if have strollers, large luggage, etc.
Fantastic property for families. Excellent condition and scrupulously clean, with all the comforts of home. 2 bathrooms - a definite plus as is airconditioning in all bedrooms. Nice balcony and a swimming pool in the complex were a lovely added extras. All equipment for small children and babies provided (portacot, high chair and stroller on request). Hosts are abcolutely wonderful! Super fast responses and bent over backwards to help us with every question and request. Overall a great holiday experience. Will definintely stay again!

AustraliaIssues with the pool filtration system and maintenance. Upon checking in we noticed the pool was green and cloudy. We alerted manager and a pool cleaning man attended that day. He put a lot of chemicals in the pool and said it was unsafe to swim for a couple of days and ‘might’ be ok after that. He put up a ‘Pool closed’ sign. On our third day the pool was still closed and water quality hadn’t improved much. Our stay was in January, 30+ degrees and all our three kids wanted to do for their holiday was swim. Our holiday was severely impacted. We asked for compensation and owner/manager refused. He took down the sign in the afternoon and said pool was fine, despite it still being green. We had to leave and find alternative accommodation for the remainder of our stay in Cairns.
Inside apartment was clean and contained everything one could need. Clean bedding and towels. Beds were comfortable. Aircon in every room. The furniture and decor was very budget, but fine.
