How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Having to carry all our stuff up the stairs. We requested ground floor and we got it, just didn't realise the carpark is in the basement with no elevator.

No hand towel or face washer provided.
Great location between bus and tram stops. Small complex meant it wasn’t hustle and bustle and the pool wasn’t crowded. While the decor and finishes are a bit worn/tied the property was very clean and well organised.

Black mould in the bathroom.
Great position, a short walk to the beach and Broadbeach, and we also walked to Cavill Ave a couple of times. The unit is very comfortable and roomy. We used the pool and BBQ area.

Unit is oldish, so needs some upgrade. The patio door does not slide easily, and no lock on the patio screen. Fan in master bedroom does not respond to remote control. Kitchen well-equipped with oven/stove, microwave, dishwasher etc, - but not enough cutlery for 4 people, and no washing up brush or scourer at sink. Fairly minor, but a few details would make a big difference!
Excellent location, quiet, the unit was clean and ready for us, and the check in process was quick and easy (and we were able to check in early which was a nice bonus!!). Older style unit, so very spacious. Pool in complex, very pleasant. Good washing machine and drier. Water pressure in kitchen, bath and shower excellent, so having a shower after a day on the beach is great!!

There was a lack of sundries such as toilet paper and tissues available and the service desk was not staffed at any point that we attended to ask for more. We had to purchase our toilet paper in the end. This may have been the expectation, but it was not clearly stated.
The location was great, and the apartment was good value for money. Very spacious.

Apartment 11 had unfinished tiling. in kitchen that could cut your feet. Taps so old and would not turn off.

The apartment looks a little run down. Doesn't appear to have been updated since the 70's. The ceiling fan above the bed hung at an angle and the blades were all sagging. Made a horrible grinding sound when running and only had 1 speed. Prices were a bit bit high for the age of the facility but that's what you get on the Gold Coast during School holidays.
Very well set up apartment one block from the beach. The host was very friendly and helpful

Noisy. The apartment next door was doing renovations (I think it this was a privately owned apartment). Work starting from 7am which when you are on holidays you would like to not get woken up first thing in the morning. Some random bird chirping all night long and the plumbing is noisy. Can hear every toilet and shower in the building running.
Fantastic location in the beautiful suburb of Broadbeach. One street over from the beach, walking distance to Oasis shopping Centre and Pacific Fair. Corner shop just across the road. Short drive (could also walk to Surfer's Paradise). Older style building but great value. Underground carpark and Swimming pool. Miriam the Manager was lovely.
