How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

There was no wifi which was limiting for me as I didn’t have any international data on my phone.
Spacious property with everything I needed. Washing powder was provided which was a really nice touch!!

Units are older. They need maintenance on them. Taps leaking in shower and laundry if not turned off really tight. A paint job inside would be good. Main bed was comfortable.

A little run down, the paints chipping away, lino lifting. There was a board under the cushions on the couch which made it hard, and there were holes in the cushions.
Location was fantastic. Beds were comfortable for sleep

Property needed a really good clean throughout. Floors and windowsills dirty

It was a little unclean, dust under furniture Inc beds. . Lounge was uncomfortable. No matches to light stove. The laundry window rattled during the night. No power points in bedrooms.

The car park and inside of the units was exceptionally basic with no shady trees or natural ambience. Very dated interiors but also functional and adequate for needs. Noise travelled across the units from one to the other with the windows open. Not so great when other people are noisy, even with talking on their phones but his could be remedied somewhat with closing windows.
The parking was easy and the location by the beach was sensational. Very close to town and everything we needed was in the unit. The unit was clean and tidy.

Older 1960s style fibro fishing shack with pretty dated fittings looking very tired. $180 per night for a single person seemed a bit steep considering what was on offer.Satisfactory level of cleanliness, but a good SPRING CLEAN would enhance the situation. Front porch, lights and doormat covered with sand and cobwebs.
Handy location next to the park, beach and walking tracks. Comfortable bed and nice hot shower. Reasonably clean sufficient cooking facilities for a longer term stay for a family.Quiet at night.

Property needs upgrading - shower head leaks and sprays everywhere, taps in bathroom and kitchen need new washers. Toilet needs checking as it does not flush correctly. Need a lighter or matches to start the gas burners on top of stove. We don't smoke so had to buy a lighter.
Easy access to the property. Lock box with keys at front door. Was a comfortable couple of days. We would stay again. The manager Cathy was brilliant and very helpful.

Lounge needed a clean
Location - opposite the beach foreshore park and close to the town shops and beach cafe’. Cute old style beach shack in a complex of 4. It’s set up well with washing machine, powder, line and pegs. Kitchen crockery, utensils, pans, etc in cupboard (I travel with my own), oven, microwave, kettle and cleaning products. Reasonable bed with lovely soft linen, pillows and towels. Lovely managers 😊xx
