How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Constant noise from the highway. More noise from the fridge! Not much else...
The space was simple yet appropriate. Everything worked well and was clear and well-laid-out. Very central to town. Everything was very clean. The room was lovely and cool on arrival, despite being a mid-30s day.

Only one arm chair, maybe a two seater couch instead as there is plenty of room. TP and Tissues could go up a ply.
The units are quite big and spacious, exceptionally clean, well fitted out and comfortable.

Always very clean and well maintained. Close to main highway but no traffic noise. Easy to find off highway. Walking distance from shops and supermarket. Large fridge and kitchenette has microwave. Friendly staff. Room always prepared with heating/cooling on prior to arrival.

A good location within walking distance of restaurants and cafes but far enough away from the main road intersection. A large comfortable room with all facilities required for a short stay. Very clean and great shower.

Er, … nothing.
The tourist suites in Gundagai were 3C. That is Clean, Comfortable and Cheap. Spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and half the price of even a modest hotel. We wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else en route to Melbourne from Sydney. It’s the little things that count, too. Fresh milk in a large fridge, crisp clean sheets, power sockets next to the bed head, coffee maker supplied, bathroom heater. And did I say that everything was spotless?

The only thing I would change would be that the room had been sprayed with a very strong fragrance which was pretty awful for us. I am sensitive to strong fragrances (as many people are) and we had to air the room for several hours before we were comfortable. I suspect it was done because smoking is allowed on the patio where there was a sandbox ashtray. Maybe the room had been smoked in hence the soraying? I think the only improvement I can suggest is to have some rooms where no smoking is allowed in or outdoor so its not needded inside.
I thought that the room and facilities were great. Spacious and clean with a nice little patio to eat dinner.

The water in the bathroom drained away very slowly.
There was no breakfast option but everything else in the facility was very good particularly the reception staff who provided all the information that a first time visitor could require.

Location was great. We got a free upgrade from a small trailer to a Motel room. Wasn't expecting this and we were grateful for the upgrade. Served a good purpose for a short overnight stay on a road trip.

Excellent quiet location, close to restaurants and the freeway. Fast wi-fi this time. The room and bathroom are spotless. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Nothing really. Everything was really good. Thought the drive in undercover caravan sites was a great idea too.
Pleasantly surprised, thought it would be basic and cheap, but was really nice, staff very friendly, great facilities, just a really nice place to stay. We will be back and we will recommend to our friends to go there too

Roomy. Easy parking. Walking distance to village. Coffee machine. Clean. Doors at each end which made it easy to air the unit and provided a private sitting area. Screen and airiness. Comfortable bed.

We had a cabin on the edge of the site and could hear the traffic all night and very noisy with wildlife so didn’t get much sleep. It was a Sunday and everything in the town was closed apart from supermarket and bottle shop so a wasted stopover.
Large cabin. Could do with an update but very clean and had everything we needed.
