How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

On entering the room a cigarette smoking Smell is disappointing as we are not smokers. Any potential view from the balcony is blocked by the very high black fence on-top of the regular fence. No carpark on sight so had to park way down the road.
Mostly good layout of the room. Good facilities. Very quiet and peaceful. Helpful staff over the phone.

Access to the property and room was a worry. Had initial difficulty using the push button screen but got good assistance over phone. Lack of parking in the complex and told to park on street. Not easy. 2 hour limit during day and very busy part of town. We did manage to get a nearby park early evening
Great location. Fully equipped modern kitchen. Washing machine/drier. Very comfy bed. Plenty of room with separate bedroom, lounge areas and good size separate bathroom.

Can't really think of anything we didn't like.
The apartment was very quiet - the double-glazing worked a treat. It's a great location near to the train station and the entertainment venues of Beaumont St. The bed was really comfy, too. Also the size of the apartment was right for us, especially the size of the bathroom - sometimes bathrooms are too small.

These apartments are very clean and extremely well appointed. Even though we were there for only one night, we could easily have stayed longer. The apartment was large, as was the bathroom with it's washing machine. It's in a lovely part of Newcastle - called Islington, which is quite a groovy neighbourhood. It is within walking distance to many restaurants and the Entertainment Centre, beats queueing in the parking lot at the end of a show! Would definitely stay here again.

USB in bedroom (only one) didn’t work. No Netflix . No shelf in shower for soaps or shampoo etc.

Only slight problem is there is no front desk if you want some local knowledge on attractions, etc and you don't know the area.
The room was a fully self-contained apartment which felt nice and homely. You could easily stay there for an extended period.

It is quite noisy on Fri and Sat night from the bar on the opposite street.
Very good location, very near the Hamilton train station and some bus stops. Many restaurants nearby. Room is spacious as expected for an apartment. Cooking facilities are good. There is also washing machine but I didn't use it.

At first car parking . Used to it. Also no reception. We have learnt a lot . No trolley for luggage.
Very close to everywhere . My husband played table tennis competition for Australia Deaf Games.

Shower had no hot water. 😩 wasn't able to shower after the beach.
Location was excellent. Lovely view from the balcony. The Receptionist was very lovely and accommodating.

This was nothing to do with the accomodation itself however the location was noisy at night. There were people singing after leaving nightclubs and cars making burn outs.

The on street parking was pretty average.
Quite clean and modern inside unit . Would suit a business trip more than recreation. Very close to train station. Staff communications were helpful on the phone when we had issues using the codes on the doors .
