Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaLove everything about this estate. It was not our first time visiting away from our child! It’s a perfect sanctuary to re-connect with your partner amongst nature, nurtured with exquisite food and hospitality. The massage therapist was also outstanding! We will be back!

AustraliaBe good if the restaurant menu could alternate over the weekends slightly.
Stunning; loved that a beautiful restaurant was on the premises; loved the fireplace in the room crackling all night.

AustraliaNothing to note during our stay.
Breakfast and Dinner were amazing. The cocktail class was made up of 3 drinks and our host Felipe was awesome but so was the rest of the entire staff throughout our stay. We did a garden tour before dinner with one of the chefs who is part of a new husband-and-wife team that recently took charge of The Paddock. The food overall is amazing and glad we could do two dinners so that we could taste everything on the menu!

AustraliaAdvertises about “electric bikes” for guest use on the property however they don’t appear to be maintained. The battery was flat/not working so they were just “heavy bikes”. Included breakfast while interesting, it was “too rich/strange” for our liking. The first day had a nice yoghurt with muesli followed by a sausage, egg, capsicum and tomato type stew. Tasty and enjoyable however the second day’s breakfast was weird. A piece of strawberry and yoghurt cake followed by a beetroot and lettuce salad with an egg in a deep fried rosti (much too rich for us for breakfast). Dinner in the restaurant was also disappointing. Two courses for $95pp. The flavours were interesting and innovative however the portions were downright stingy. More like “tasting plates” rather than an entree and main. We ordered a side of “Cheesey potatoes” at $15 extra to accompany the mains, but all it was were two baked potatoes with a bit of melted grated cheese over the skin of the potatoes. Boring and quite tasteless. We ate them though because we were hungry. If we return to the property we would not choose to dine in the restaurant again, which is a shame, because it’s such a lovely setting and the chef is clearly skilled. The chef/business just needs to be more generous in their portions for the $$$ they are charging. A disappointing end to an otherwise lovely stay.
We stayed in a “Pavillion” and it was beautiful. Very stylish and luxurious. Extremely comfortable bed and lovely pillows.

AustraliaBathroom amenities not much there, coffee was not easy to quickly get with the bags. Small coffee machine would be nice to keep up with other similar properties of this lux standard? Cabin bit small an extra chair if possible? No books or board games that I could see. Perhaps for future a pool might be a good thought.
Location and staff, food very nice.

AustraliaThe fully stocked bar fridge could have left a little room for the food and drink we needed to keep cool for our further travels - no ice compartment either.
The chef's selection meal was the highlight of our stay. From our room we saw large hares (thought they were wallabies at first!). The birdsong at dawn continued entertaining us all day.

AustraliaWe were happy with everything that was provided to us! Definitely will be returning sometime soon. Bring an umbrella if it looks like its going to rain.
The hospitality from Donna & Stuart was lovely and very accommodating to all our needs. Great little hide away in a very quiet location. The views from our room were picturesque and we will be definitely returning. Thank you! Matt & Mel.

AustraliaThe cabins are very close to each other, so you need to fold down the side blinds to avoid neighbours' eye contact. It seems this will eventually be addressed by the rows of plants between each cabin, unfortunately, it will be at least another year or two before these reach blocking height. One gripe was the poor phone reception and wifi reception from within the room, they seriously need a wifi extender added for the end cabins. The rooms do not have phones so there was no way to easily get in contact with reception. The food was hit and miss. The dinner starters crispy fried mushrooms, and strawberry gum chicken were absolute stars of the meal. The remainder of the meal fell flat (maybe cause the starters were so good!)
Luxury accommodation with beautiful views from all areas on the property. It was great seeing so many pademelons, roos and bird life throughout the stay. The room was comfortable. The queen bed was two singles pushed together, with the joining section very hard. We loved the balcony area. The service was friendly and helpful. The golf buggy for transport and baggage delivery was most welcome. They also have eBikes, unfortunately, we did not get to use as there are only two available at the moment. The guided kitchen garden tour was interesting. Adding more activities such as this would entice me to book longer next time. Unlike most luxury accommodation, Hazelwood Estate offers single-night stays. This was greatly appreciated.
