Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWe struggled with the hardness of the mattresses in both bedrooms and opening the back door to the sunny alcove (finally pushed very hard and opened it). I wouldn't plan to cook up a feast as there was a distinct lack of cooking utensils and cutlery. Our cabin did have a proper sink, a bath and a shower - but we couldn't get the electric radiator in the main bedroom to work at all.
Wonderful hilltop location nestled in the autumnal trees overlooking the rolling hills and pastures of the Southern Highlands. The sense of history was palpable - very Jane Austenesque as one newspaper reviewer wrote. The 2-bedroom family room was spacious and the cereals, yogurt juice and milk for breakfast were great - as was the large refrigerator. The gas heater in the lounge room pumped out heat well and the electric blankets were very welcome.

AustraliaThe TV didn’t work, privacy curtains on the bathroom window.
Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Loved the oldie worldly feel, stepping back in time. Enjoyed the supplied breakfast. Toasty warm with all the heaters, electric blanket and combustion fire.

AustraliaThe accommodation is rustic but perfect for those travelling with pets. In our case, a golden retriever.
The grounds are magnificent. The location is grand. The art is intriguing.

AustraliaPlace was a little tricky to find - it seemed that the sign at the driveway entrance could only be seen from one direction. We initially missed the entrance. Then the signposting to the cottage could have been better. Actually, initially drove past our cottage and eventually found it. (Granted weather was rotten at the time so visibility was poor). Did not expect kitchen facilities to be a plastic tub for the sink and found no teaspoons. One chair at dining table was very unstable and indeed started to fall apart upon use.
Very quiet location. Not far to shops and restaurants. Accommodation was warm and spacious. Breakfast supplies were good. Rarely saw anyone else.

AustraliaSome greater attention to details - light not working, 1 electric blanket not working, partially broken toilet seat, TV instructions could have been clearer. Some further information on the sculptures would be good to have as well.
The property is in a great location, nice to walk around and explore the sculptures. Breakfast provisions were great.

AustraliaThe only thing what needs to be fixed is the shower as the panel is coming off and there is a lot of Mould which needs to be removed as it is a health concern. A bucket with a mop would be good for slobber dogs.
I like everything about this place. The view, the courtyard, the sculptures. The close proximity to the Moss Vale. The quite space if other people would control their dogs better (barking)

AustraliaNeeds a bit of cleaning and very hard to stay too long as the washing facilities for your dishes is not great but it is a step back in time. You have to fill your bowl with water and wash your dishes. So if staying longer than two nights it becomes a bit tedious not having a sink. There were lots of noises at night time and didn’t know if there was something crawling inside the cabin or underneath but woke several times. So wasn’t that great for sleeping. :(
The views were amazing and tranquil

AustraliaThe cottage wasn’t very clean. There was dust and dirt on the floors, carpet and in corners. The bath has to be scrubbed to remove the dirty ring before I could use it. The dishwashing liquid bottle was almost empty. There was only one wine glass, and that was a champagne flute, not for wine. One of the bath towels has a hole in it. The lounge has cracks in the leather. The overall impression I had of the cottage was shabby - such a shame, as it’s a gorgeous place but could just do with some attention to detail and maybe a bit more TLC.
The cottage building was spacious and comfy. I was able to have a bath which was a real treat! The views were spectacular, and the grounds with the sculptures were amazing. I loved the huge pine trees. Seeing kangaroos and rabbits around was lovely. Our dog has plenty of room to run around in the grounds.
