How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The only downside would be the room and bathroom quite small but being in the centre if Sydney, understandable.
Location fabulous and all together a very nice stay.

Cleaning staff removed our towels and our top sheet, called duty manager No reply. Pool been told is warm, it's not it is cold, with very slippery floors

It is very noisy! We could hear the music coming up from the Marble Bar until the early hours of the morning. Also no soundproofing between rooms, so could hear the television and children crying from the adjacent room. It doesn't make for a great night's sleep. In my opinion, overpriced for what it is.
Great location with the tram station located in front of the hotel. Short walk to shops and restaurants and other attractions. Lovely room and facilities, comfortable bed.

The swimming pool was closed early when I reported it to the manager he said he would get back to me and let me know why. There was a lot of people waiting to go for a swim with kids but disappointed.

Confusing with the aircon in the room - was very hot (23 degrees) in the middle of the night and only a lot of button pushing eventually reduced that to something more enjoyable. Basically the thermostat was a significant issue. Also the parking charged me $80 for my overnight stay despite indicating that it was $50 overnight. That's outrageous and seriously impacted my enjoyment of the stay.

Small rooms. Glass Brasserie is beautiful. Had to wait over 1.5hrs after ordering for mains at Glass. No fault of house nor the waiting staff’s problem… they were lovely . Unfortunately it was a breakdown in communication in the kitchen. I had to go and see what the wait was all about. Our waiter, at our request checked on the progress of our order. . I know this happens from time to time. But it was my wife’s 56th birthday and it kind of dulled the experience. Mains and a free glass of wine were made complimentary which we gratefully welcomed. The Marble Bar is a favourite of ours over the years, but sadly it’s become painfully loud and impersonal We left after not being able hear each other speak. We went upstairs were not permitted into the night club as we were too old. ☹️ Enjoyed our stay but the Marble bar on a Saturday night doesn’t cater for all guests due to volume. DB levels exceed hearing danger levels. Can’t hear anyone talk. Staff also agree that they can’t communicate with guests or staff. DJ has monitoring headphones and is protected from the painfully loud sound behind the P.A speakers, and doesn’t need to talk to anybody. Having to shout at my wife and others is not really that pleasant nor acceptable. Left after a short while dissatisfied. May I suggest keep the volume to a healthy and enjoyable volume level. …Keep it classy. That’s what the Hilton brand is about.
