How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Breakfast very poor , reception staff was poor after I checkout I noticed I left my Mastercard black branded umbrella but to get help was to no avail .Had to leave without my umbrella

Two tea bags? Really? When you have flown for hours and are tired it takes more than a room to make you feel good. This felt unnecessarily tight-fisted. To receive only two bags of the only flavour you are interested in is a bit mean!
Breakfast was fine. Food not very hot. All yoghurt bowls were completely empty when we arrived sadly. My sister requested something which initially looked like it would be a bother and then it was kindly delivered!

Signage at ground floor could be clearer in directing users to reception upstairs.
Location was excellent being a 5 min walk from Southern Cross station and nearby tram stops. Room was spotless and comfortable. Hotel was overall quiet and pleasant to rest in.

Blinds on window were damaged. Shower was not private- glass shower wall needs to be a proper wall.
Comfy beds. Clean. Great staff and excellent location.

We were able to check out late. The restaurant is very comfortable. We had to stay there a few hours after checking out and the couches are relaxed

Convenient location, room was ok….bathroom didn’t provide much privacy. Nothing available in the mini bar which I was surprised at. All staff we encountered were super friendly!! Breakfast was ok, coffee machine was average but did the job

We had trouble with the aircon, wouldn’t turn off! Woke up with very dry nasal passages. Was annoying. Also, pillows are terrible- firm one still goes very flat. Paid extra $40 for a room with breakfast included vs one without..but it appears everyone has a complimentary breakfast anyway.. so that was a shame.
Clean, centrally located, functional room, breakfast was ice, was perfect for what we wanted and needed!

Our room was not vacuumed I assume someone that stayed the the night before us had been wearing something with glitter because it was at the entrance of the room and on the carpet of the room. But other than that It was great.
We liked that it was close to everything we needed.

Bathroom could have been cleaner, would have been nice to have a spare blanket in the room, 24hr room service options weren't great, told all the way up to check-in was that we still had to pay extra for parking when it was included in our deal so was confusing, & very quick to take a $50 holding fee on our card but told 7-10 business days for refund....
The deal with parking was great as was easily the cheapest hotel parking in the area we found, and breakfast included - great value for our budget. So close to Marvel Stadium without being in Docklands which was the reason for our stay, but also just a quick walk to Southbank or the Spencer St Outlet if you don't want to deal with the CBD (like us)! Staff were lovely too.

Nothing - I was very happy with my stay.
The breakfast was a nice little touch to the stay. It was relatively basic - your usual options: bacon, scrambled eggs, has browns and toast. A few little pastries and a small area for cereal and museli. The room was small but perfect size for 1-2 people. The bathroom was very small and compact, but very usable. It was a great location! Just down the road from Southern Cross Station and a tram that gets you staright to Bourke street mall or towards The Crown Casino/near South bank DFO. Also a number of Tram stops within walking distance to get you to venues such as the MCG and Richmond.
