About 10 min walk to the main road. Not a huge deal though.

Absolute value for money, Clean, quiet and comfortable. It has the privacy and connivence of a hotel on a hostel budget. Host also does airport pickup/dropoff for a small fee.

The fact that I had to walk upstairs every time to use the bathroom and toilet, even in the middle of the night. :)

The room was very well set with comfortable bed, it felt very homey. Though bathroom and toilet facilities were shared, I commend on the cleanliness - Spotless and odorless!

The airlines were adding/cancelling flights, probably overestimating travellers' concerns over cyclones Jasper and Kirrily.

It was great to experience a traditional Queenslander only 15 mins walk from Cairns Central. I had no car but got bus day tickets for $2.40 as a senior and had day trips to Kuranda, the northern beaches and Green Island.

The walls are thin and we could hear the conversations from the room next door, being a light sleeper probably didn’t help as well.

The location was great, everything we had to go to were very accessible with just few mins drive. You have everything that you would expect or need in a homestay. Julie was very accommodating. She invited us for Christmas lunch which was quite nice.

I had my own breakfast, but Julie adder yogourt and mango fruit to Please me. The location isn’t far from Cairns Central where Tour busses pick tourists up. If one like walking one can go to the aquarium, the seafront or the botanical Gardens.

Minor complaints but in context of the rates, insignificant to the overall enjoyment of the stay. Provided other guests abide by the respectful, peaceful requests; it's a fabulous relaxed place to stay. Walking into town was brilliant for me to get my daily walk :)

Everything provided for a comfortable stay. Breezy, quiet location only 15 minutes walk to main shopping mall and a further 15 minutes walk to The Promenade.

The studio is essentially a room in the lower level of a Queenslander; as such, it is separated from other rooms just by doors that are locked and have a second security screen? I did not feel unsafe at all, but noise travelled A LOT. Had to tell both of my adjoining rooms to quiet down; they may have not realized as I, being alone and not using the TV, made little to no noise. It is a 30 min walk from the centre, personally I do not mind that but people unfamiliar with Cairns should be aware.

Spacious studio with a large bathroom, decent bed & kitchen, and the host is very attentive.

It wasn't the room that was in the photos I had from Booking.com or the description e.g. no open plan bathtub, I had a shower only. But it worked out ok for me. It wasn't as sound proof as it could be, maybe add some padding to the door leading to the other room next door to help reduce disturbing other guests.

I liked that it had what I needed.

The location doesn't count as Cairns central. So if you book some tours, they don't necessarily pick you up from the accommodation. But the walk to the Central Station as pick up point is just 20 minutes.

It was a nice and cozy place with an own entrance. I enjoyed my stay and Julie was really friendly. I would stay again!

Julie`s is in a quite area, just about 20 min walk from the Lagoon & cbd. Even if you travel without a car, the city centre, supermarkets, etc are all in walking distance. I had the good luck to stay in the granny`s apartment with an own bathroom, kitchen & extra entrance which gave me a lot of freedom and flexibility. Beside this I could sit outside in the garden as well. Julie was a great host who is taking care of her place but also of her guests so that you feel comfortable right from the first moment.

    Everything was great !

I thoroughly enjoyed my recent stop over at ‘Homestay at Julie's’ in Cairns. Her home was exactly as described and suited my needs (relaxation) to a T! The place is extremely peaceful, very clean and quiet. I would recommend it for solo travellers and couples, because of the central location, access to facilities and beautiful garden terraces. Guests have access to spacious and airy bedrooms with TVs, free WiFi and views. The kitchen is modern, wood panelled, well-equipped and great for cooking. I felt welcome and comfortable here and would definitely book this place again. Julie was the perfect host, not only picking me up, but also inviting me to her Christmas day lunch spectacular ! which made me feel very much at home. She even provided a hand drawn map for the shortest route to walk to town. I can’t think of any improvements to the service and would just like to thank Julie for being such a friendly and thoughtful host!

It might be better to use forks instead of fingers to touch and flatten the potato shreds. Julie was an awesome house host and helped me a lot. But I have to admit there were some seconds that morning I was at a loss and not sure how to deal with that breakfast. Except that, everything was pretty great.

Friendly and helpful host lady. Beautiful and vintage courtyard. All necessary furniture or household appliances. Outstanding price. Reasonable distance from house to the reef fleet terminal (better take the bus instead of walking though as the summer in Cairns is pretty hot). Very, very, very adorable cats-They are angels.

If I may comment, I would say these can be improved; - smell and small insects in Kitchen, especially around kitchen sink. - it would be good to have more detail instructions at the beginning to fit Julie’s life style so that she would not be worrying about, eg. how trash/garbage needs to be separated, which towels to use to dry dishes, etc

Julie was very helpful, and I appreciated she was flexible for my odd check-in time, rearranging my accommodation situation, and giving directions for all places I wanted to go. The location was perfect for me as I like walking and jogging and to go everywhere I wanted to go; just within 35 min.on foot, I could go to Cairns harbor terminal, central shopping center, and botanical garden. It was reasonable price with even using Uber to go other places. It was quiet and confortable enough to have good sleeps as well. I also liked hearing bird’s’ sounds :-), though I hear noise of cars, which didn’t bother me.

Julie has created a really welcoming space in a good location just outside of Cairns CBD. Location is good as it's on a quiet street and walkable to everything you need. The accomodation is really comfortable with everything you need for a short or long stay, with all the amenities. Julie's super helpful with the check in, including helping with transport from the airport and information on the local area. Really recommend.
