Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaFelt very homely and comfortable, loved the privacy and the views. A honeyeater actually did visit the bush at the front of the property! Lovely personal touches including fresh baked bread which we greatly enjoyed throughout the stay. Loved being able to watch the farm animals on the property. Often ate and relaxed on the balcony. Close to many good bushwalks.

AustraliaNo complaints. Everything was lovely.
Honey Eater cottage was absolutely delightful. The room was so cosy and beautifully appointed right down to special treats of home made bread and muffins. The fully fenced yard was perfect for our Border Collie who really loved exploring and seeing the animals especially the pony’s who came up to the fence each morning. The views from the balcony were wonderful. We do look forward to returning.

Hong KongNothing with the accommodation itself. Just that as it is located in rural area, should avoid arriving at the cottage at night.
Sandra is an excellent hostess. She knew that we would arrive late so gave us all sort of advices beforehand (eg beware of small animals on the road). We felt so warm when we found home made muffins waiting for us in the room after a long drive in the dark. The cottage is very comfortable with lovely decoration. We also enjoyed hanging around in Sandra's farm, feeding the ponies, goats and alpacas.

AustraliaWe could not think of any to be honest.
A nice and neat cottage with a lovely host, Sandra. Plenty of farm animals. The ponies would also respond to your greeting. The location is centre to everywhere, Seville, Healsville and everything. 10 minutes drive to the closest town. Sandra provided us breakfast with sourdough bread, croissants, milk, juice and condiments. She is also very welcoming and provides assistance when needed. We would love to go back again.

AustraliaNothing to write as we loved everything.
We loved everything about our stay. The owner has a very high standard. You can tell they put alot of effort into everything thing at the property. We loved that our dog had a very safe and secure stay. We also loved the effort that was given to the breakfast not just the normal boring breakfast items. Lots of attention to Homemade items. Made with love. And Really loved the garden..

AustraliaThe kitchen space was difficult. Small sink and no rack to dry. More bench space would make longer visits like ours easier.
Fireplace, main reason we chose Honeyeater and for dog friendliness. we did buy our own wood based on the limited firewood statement in the booking information. Spa bath was excellent and the bed was super comfy. Sandra’s home made muffins made Honeyeater exceptional.

AustraliaHoneyeater was a lovely getaway. Though only a short distance out of Melbourne it felt like a world away. With beautifil views of the farm and its beautiful animals (loved meeting and feeding the ponies and cows). Freshly baked muffins and bread on arrival and a full continental breakfast was amazing. Sandra is just the loveliest lady/ host, it is obvious that she takes great pride and care in honeyeater and it shows in how beautiful the cottage is and how great you feel when sitting on the verandah with a cup of tea just admiring the views. Having the cottage fully fenced off gives a sense of security to letting our dog roam, it's super pet friendly. Loved it!

AustraliaThe kitchen is very compact and not really suited to cooking but we were aware this is a B&B and there are plenty of good places to eat close by. There is very little not to like.
It was extremely comfortable and well furnished. The bathroom is a high standard and the deep tub a welcome indulgence. There is a wood fire for the colder weather which we did not need while we were there. We were provided with muffins and an abundance of bread. We preferred the fresh farm eggs provided on request. Fresh juices were very nice as well. There is a generous supply of plates, glasses and cooking utensils. The cottage shares the farm property with a variety of animals. Were got to meet the friendly miniature ponies who came to the fence. We very much appreciated that Sandra welcomes pets and our elderly Siamese also enjoyed his stay. The location was ideal, between the Yarra Valley and the Danenongs and close to places to eat. `
