Cleaning was on surface in the rooms and it was quiet hot during the night.

Location is great, easy to get there. Staff is nice, helpful and available. Gym pass are a great plus. Rooms are well organized and big lockers are available to fit your whole backpack.

The place smelled. This included in the hallway as well as in the room. Had to leave the fan running all day.

The wifi was very good. Close location to the train station. Each bed had powerpoints and a locker.

I spent two very pleasant weeks in the hostel. The staff are young and very welcoming, always looking after their guests. The hostel has several common areas that make it easy to meet people and have a good time. Thank you for everything !

Fun hostel with a chill atmosphere and a different event on every night to help meet people. Staff were lovely and someone is always working so the place was clean and tidy. Rooms were cleaned everyday and bathrooms had new showers. Great location close to train station, would stay again!

Dirty hostel. Small area to socialise in- often taken up by regulars who don’t want to talk to new travellers/ solo travellers. Kitchen too small with no windows or ventilation which would get very hot. I didn’t feel able to cook in their once. Staff did a very basic job of cleaning the place. Very few showers for the amount of people staying and therefore found myself waiting for showers and the toilet all the time. The WhatsApp group was full of ‘in house jokes’ which was not welcoming to new travellers. Tv room was a lovely touch but it was smelly and always in use by long term residence. The bedrooms were very small- nowhere to put belongings other than one small locker. I was lucky enough to have a plug next to my bed- but this was complete luck and no one else had this. I saw cockroaches in the room twice ! Would never stay here again. Completely overpriced for what you get, I often felt uncomfortable, never felt able to use the kitchen or socialise in the communal areas - it ended up just being a place in Sydney where I went to sleep- a real shame!

The staff were friendly whenever I spoke to them. The free gym pass is a bonus as you can shower at the cleaner showers at the gym.

Bedrooms are roasting and only one fan between all beds which isn't enough. The place isn't a backpackers hostel, it's used by people living in Sydney with no accommodation yet so it's a half-way house which isn't great for the vibe and they kind of act like they own the place. The short-term staff are pretty useless.

Kitchen is decent, but it was tight for room on shelves and fridge. Main guy working there with a moustache was really friendly and helpful.

Many rooms face the street that is very busy. It is quite noisy at night, although it's alright. Many hostels are far worse.

This is a very good hostel. Very good value for money with its weekly fee. The tv room is very large. There is a small patio outside. A big and comfy living room as well. The kitchen is large and newly renovated. There are activities everyday. Plenty of rooms with shower and toilet together, so you have space to wash yourself. It is never too busy/overcrowded with backpackers and the staff knows how to keep the guests quiet after a certain time. They work well and are helpful. The hostel is spacious and always clean. As with all mad monkey hostels in the neighbourhood, you can have access to the gym for free for 2h at a time. I liked that AC isn't used, but fans. That is a relief for the throat, unlike in many other hostels.

The bedrooms were extremely hot at night which is fine as long as you sleep without a blanket

Location was a very short 1-2 minute walk from a major underground train station, as well as multiple grocery stores. The people staying there were all very lovely and the vibe was excellent. Communal spaces were friendly and shared appropriately. Lockers were of decent size for luggage.
