How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

As a female traveller, I felt a bit apprehensive about walking over there alone. I knew I would have to leave again in the morning very early and it would be still dark. I asked the receptionist if he knew if the path to the airport was well-lit at night but he did not really know and did not appreciate that this might be an issue for a woman with a suitcase walking in the dark at 4.00 am.
It was quite convenient to the airport. It was well signposted once you got to the Qantas end of the airport so one could walk over to the hotel; no need to take a taxi.

Vending machines so so overpriced!
Location to the airport fantastic just a short clearly signposted walk. Rooms adequate for our needs.

Staff wasn't great. You have to actively ask for the wifi, it's not just a given on a sheet. There was also no lift. No shower curtain in bathrooms (so everything got wet such as the toilet and floor etc) you also can't have too hot a shower as it apparently causes the alarms to go off.
It was close to the airport. Bed was comfy.

Dark walk to the terminal, makes you feel vulnerable walking alone.

Able to walk from airport to hotel. It is a budget hotel but was fine to get some rest before our connecting flight the next morning.

The room was tiny and although meant for 3 guests we struggled with just the 2 of us. 1 of us had to lay our suitcase in front of the entrance door in order to open it which then becomes a fire hazard. The bed was very hard and the shower is impossible not to flood.
The staff were the best thing about this hotel. They were extremely helpful and very friendly. We were exhausted on arrival and they got us in to our room quickly and efficiently.

Not sure toilet was cleaned. Shower went everywhere. No breakfast provided before 7 even though included in the very expensive price but only one coffee sachet in the room and open milk carton from the previous occupant Noisey - Disappointedother guests very loud in passageways Price has risen exponentially over the last few years for very basic accommodation

Ensuite was very small. Felt like a plane toilet.

I was surprised there wasn’t a lift but the manager kindly took my bags to the room.
The hotel was pretty close to the airport and there were food places nearby which was convenient.

Difficult to access - Not a particularly easy walk from the airport, no automatic doors at the front of the hotel and no lift or even a luggage lift. The rooms have a plastic cubicle bathroom installed, which wasn't uncomfortable but the toilets make a loud bang when they flush and so I was kept awake at night with the noise of other guests flushing their toilets.
Friendly and helpful staff, and very clean room.

Did not receive a copy of receipt as promised. Need this to claim accommodation cost from airline as only needed accommodation due to cancellation of flight.

The walk from the airport is poorly lit, and didn't feel very safe for a solo traveller to be walking there at night. I would recommend paying a taxi whatever you have to to take you there! You can hear people coming and going all hours due to flights getting in and leaving. Was very expensive for what you get.
The sheets and towels were lovely hotel grade and very clean. The staff member on the front desk when I checked in late at night had a welcoming smile and was efficient and friendly.
