How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Very squished with a double bed and bunks in the room. Lifts very slow and at checkout time had to wait at least three times for lifts to come and go before there was room.
Fantastic location and vicinity to Qudos arena. Bed was comfy. Clean.

The bunk bed mattresses were very uncomfortable. There was holes and cracks in the paint. The walls were dirty. I dont know if the toilets have ever got a proper clean
The location was good. The staff were friendly. It was easily accessible. Bed sheets and towels were clean

Stayed 2nd year in a row. Rooms basic and in need of a renovation asap. Placed service my room sign on door/ no one touched it. Not great value as too small and room decor dated.

The power in our rooms was out for the first 6 hours. The staff were so busy checking in guests as there is only 2 check in staff and a lot of guests. Because of this our power did not get restored for quite some time. We still had lights and aircon, but no tv, kettle or ability to charge our electronics. We asked twice to have it fixed and the second time it was fixed right away. I noted that it took a number of hours for the staff to process all the guests checking in as the check in process does take a little while. I tried to book parking ahead of time but was not able to get in touch with the hotel which was a bit annoying. When we checked in we were told parking had been booked out for 2 months due to concerts and events. Despite this we easily secured a parking spot in the outdoor lot nearby and it was the same price.
Great location, friendly staff. Rooms small but clean and comfortable. We were able to check in early which was lucky. We requested 2 rooms close together and that was accommodated. We knew it would be busy due to a sold out concert but we didn’t have to wait too long for the elevator at any time.

We did not end up staying the night as I had a family emergency that I needed to get home to. I had checked in, gone to dinner and then had to leave. So had the room for all of 3 hours. Unfortunately, I still had to pay the entire amount.

It was filthy, there was very thick dust on every surface, including light switch’s and the top of the kettle. There was mould in the grout of the shower, shower head was disgusting, towel rack was a slight tug away from coming off, 3 in one body wash/shampoo/face wash. After showering the ENTIRE bathroom floor is flooded, from corner to corner, the toilet was leaking at the base, dead bugs inside the light fittings. The A/C unit is so old it barely works, took the cover off to see if the filters needed to be cleaned, the filters had been removed. It was gross.
It is very conveniently located if you have an event at Sydney Olympic Park and there is paid parking available.
