How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

No parking on our first night. Unfortunately, there was no internet for the 2 nights of our stay.
We liked the location and friendly helpful staff. The beds were very comfortable.

Hated the shower. The waterfall showerhead shouldn’t be the default when the tap is further than arms reach away, but the smaller one on the wall only points horizontally. Was incredibly frustrating. Room was very small, and too warm at night (even after adjusting AC). Also annoyed that we booked this place because it had parking, but when we got there, we were told there wasn’t any available spots. Had to drag all our stuff up and around the corner. And this place is on a one way street, so you can’t just turn around, you have to do a big block.
Staff were good, breakfast was alright. Fairly modern and comfortable. Can walk to the city.

There was a function on in the restaurant which meant dinner was very hard to obtain ,no Aussie food on offer only Malaysian. No were else within walking distance to eat. The staff were very good 👍

This hotel is great if you don't have a car. It's a bit annoying that I couldn't park in carpark at hotel and had to park a block away in other carpark and was exhausting walking my luggage all the way there and it cost me an extra $17 for parking there for one night.
Close to everything, pool and sauna was great! Restaurant was great for breakfast!

No view, windows faced the building next door which is under construction but there's nothing the hotel could do about that

There was no view in room 209, and the curtains had to be drawn so no one could see in

Slightly pricier than other ibis hotels, but did have pool and far better breakfast than normal. If not using those things though, not worth the extra money.
Great breakfast, 25m although only two narrow lanes pool lovely after a long day of travelling, 2 mini (3/4 people) saunas also lovely. Large, comfy double bed. Clean.

The shower head didn't tilt, so it was either sprayed in the face or used the overhead shower. It was not the end of the world, but it was annoying. Also, there was a bit of noise from trolleys, I think from the restaurant probably wouldn't be a issue if you were above the first floor.
The staff was great. They offered drawings for my son and arranged an Easter egg hunt for the children. When I left my keycard in my room there was no fuss they just set up new ones and asked me to return all of them when I checked out. The rooms were all we needed for a short stay. They were not huge but comfortable, and it was easy to find everything you needed. Loved that the aircon could be set for each room.

No biscuits with the tea supplies, no parking left under their building and heater not able to be controlled by us, only by staff after ringing them.
