How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Very slow elevator- waiting for long to get one. The windows were very dirty and it made me feel like everything was dirty- but it wasn’t. Such a great view with really dirty windows and terrace.
Good location, nice view from the room. Staff were nice

The apartment smelled strongly of cleaning chemicals we spent ours with fans on high to clear the air. The same problem happened after the room was serviced the next morning. We declined service for the rest of the stay.
The studio apartment was beautiful and well laid out. We loved that there was still a bedroom area, even if it was listed as a studio. Facilities met all our needs, and the bed was comfy.

Great location on Southbank and a good hub for a visit to Melbourne. Reception was super friendly and helpful. Rooms were modern , good size and well equipped.

Location. Not really clean. Missing appliance (hairdryer) Oversold on what it had to offer. No drawers. No soapholder in sink. No instruction on how to use washing machine/dryer. No instructions on checking out early. 3 elevators (only 2 working) and having to wait a long time for elevators.
Reasonable price.

Limited reception hours. Reception appeared underwhelming, almost like a temporary set up. Couldn’t charge bar/restaurant meals to room. Building is shared with another business called Wrap Residences - I would have been better off booking directly thru them as they had full services.

Traffic noise at night was loud.
Easy access by tram, or walking to the places I wanted to go to. The layout of the 1 bedroom apartment was ideal. It was nicely furnished and comfortable.

When we booked and paid for the room, we used a business credit card but because the name on the card was different to mine Imagine did not process the payment, so I had to pay out of my own pocket when I checked in. The company or I were not notified so therefore we were not able to make alternative payment arrangements before arrival.
The location was perfect for the city and Port Melbourne.

Balcony doesn't have a great view, just looks to another building, but expected in a CBD.
Lovely clean apartment in an area of the city that makes it very easy to get around. Friendly staff at check-in who looked after our luggage on the day of arrival and departure before the apartment was ready. The pool is a brilliant bonus, I loved getting up and starting the day there.

Work being done on one of the floors and lift out of action so this could be inconvenient at times as we were on 33rd floor with sometimes only two lifts to use.
Location was excellent close to the Yarra River lots of restaurants and cafes in easy walking distance and Flinder St station close also so access to trams and trains. We had a balcony with a view of river and surrounding buildings very picturesque at sunset and night with the city lights.

Unfortunately the 1 bedroom apartment smelt of damp mould. Even after each time we had the window open. The check in procedure - not overly friendly. I was still at work when my partner went up earlier to check in and I would join him later. Firstly they wouldn't let him check in as I'd only put my name on booking for two people. Fair enough, that's ok. So when I called to say yes that was my partner and I give permission for him to have access to the room they still said no I had to update the booking myself online, otherwise he couldn't have access. That's all fine if the gentleman didn't sigh down the phone with an unfriendly phone manner and I wasn't working during lunch rush at a very busy restaurant. The signage for the name of the hotel is very small and easy to miss. Especially as it's on a very busy road. They did not advise my partner at check-in that at a certain time of night the front doors are locked and you can only get access to your room via the hotel next door called Wrap. We just figured that out ourselves! So to avoid confusion everyone, basically to access Imagine you need to enter the main entrance of Wrap. To access your room you need to use the Wrap elevators and to access your car at the car park you need to access via Wrap!!
The location was good. Spacious 1 bedroom clean apartment. Very comfortable bed. Good value for money

Towels for the swimming pool would have been handy but it was no problem when we asked for extra ones. The fobs for getting access to the floors were a bit fiddly to use. A single card for your room and floor access would have been easier.
Location was excellent as it was close to everythig we wanted to do. Having a clean gym and pool available was great.
