How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

My only complaint really is the pool of the apartment complex. We had leaf debris due to windy weather not owner fault but would recommend to the body corporate to leave a leaf net in the pool area so they can be cleaned out by guests and owners. I don't think anyone used the pool but us the whole week we stayed there, and it looked like the pool was maintained weekly, but the weather was a bit windy, so more leaves came into the pool. It wasn't a big thing as it was early October start to the spring/summer season. The good thing was that the city lagoon pool was a short 10-minute walk away which was brilliant and free and huge with lifeguards and different for the kids to do.
Location was a few blocks from the start of the esplanade. 5 minutes we were at the water walking down to downtown cairns on a lovely stroll. Really close to the volleyballs and tennis so the kids were happy close to the skate park. The property was a secure location with keypads and locks, so felt very safe and secure from people walking past the complex. The apartment was comfy and clean and had everything we needed, and the host was communicative and accommodating to our extra needs as we had a medical issue. The garage for the car was underneath and safe as needed the remote to open and close that was in the apartment. Its was comfortable place for a family of 4 and the outside balcony space was huge and private.

Too many messages from the host - I was working and couldn't respond straight away to request for ID etc and felt that sending the message several times over in a short period of time felt a bit rude and annoying.
Very secure quiet complex. good location close to centre of town and esplanade. Comfortable, good facilities.

if you are a light sleeper this location is difficult. apartment living with all the noises of your neighbours and whatever is going on out on the street. across the road from private hospital so occasional ambulance sirens during the night.
great size, modern and clean. lots of amenities, good security in the apartment complex. good value for money, close enough walk down to esplanade.

We really enjoyed to stay here. Very clean, have very nice coffee. Have everything we need while we stay, especially during COVID we cooked more than eating outside. We hired a car it just take few minutes to the city and pool and supermarkets. And whenever you have questions the owner replied the message in seconds. Overall very pleasant stay.

We weren't able to log into the Netflix account, but we really didn't have time to watch much on TV so this wasn't really an issue. Having a clothes line would be handy as not all clothing can be tumble dried. we used the chairs outside to dry towels etc.
The provided coffee was very nice. Having the cutlery on hand made it really easy do do our own cooking. great space with plenty of room and the aircon was brilliant. Loved having breakfast out on the patio.

Cleaners do not clean properly. Hot water tap in the kitchen needs a valve to stop the terrible noise when you turn it on. Stove top needs some direction so you can know where to set the controls.

As to be expected for the price some facilities were not 100% the shower made a lot of noise from the pipes and only very hot or cold showers could be had without noise
Location of the property was fantastic and the apartment was very well set up.
