How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

A bit of confusion getting into the pool area. One end had a locked gate yet that was the way from the rooms? There were not enough sunbeds around the pool considering the size of the hotel. 5 in total?
The room was fabulous! The bed was huge and very comfortable! The pool was nice to cool off in.

We stayed in a downstairs room and could hear people walking above us. The doors to the rooms close very loudly and woke us up throughout the night.
Room was very comfortable and clean with great facilities.

Couldn’t call anyone so had to walk to reception or bar to request food etc. Balconies have no privacy as the are all joined together which is uncomfortable. Didn’t feel overly safe, huge open area behind us and hotel is not very secure.
Great location, friendly staff, enjoyed room service meal, large room with balcony as we requested

needed a bond deposit didn’t have a credit card on me lucky I had cash but then had to wait 20 minutes while housekeeping checked the room to ensure no breakages or theft 😢 if had credit card would be 4 days to get back (heard other guests ask)

Light in bathroom no good for doing your make up.the tiles in bathroom are very slippery when they get wet.the pool was closed for some reason. I feel this property is under utilised.it has so much potential. There are lots of areas which are not in use.
The rooms were very spacious and clean.bed very comfy.the restaurant serves lovely food and plenty of it.views over the river very nice.location also very good.

The hotel is outdated and old. The shower/bathroom had a lot of mould on the ceiling, it needs a better extraction fan! The lighting in the bathroom isn't great. The cleaning staff were either a bit slow or they were short staffed as one day we'd left for several hours and our room still wasn't cleaned. It wasn't cleaned our whole stay(3 nights) and we had to keep asking for more toilet paper. The hallway carpet was filthy with several stains all over. It was good enough, but not so great that I'd stay again.
The bed was so comfortable! Was a nice sized room with a bath. The location is pretty good, it's not too far from Perth CBD but far enough away to be quiet.

The only complaint I have is that the carpets in the bedroom block hallway and inside the lift were filthy, apart from that everything was fantastic, I would definitely stay again

Only minor issue was the bathroom - lighting in shower could be better and the door only opened outward, which made it difficult to place a bath mat in front of the door. Also due to the size of the mirror in bathroom, the toilet roll holder was in an awkward spot at the back rather than the side of the toilet - had to turn awkwardly to reach. Would be great if there were 2 bins - one in the room and one in bathroom 😊
Location was great, in a nice quiet area - close to the airport, city and Crown Room was clean and comfortable

pool wasn’t open, this is why I booked it here for the pool, wasn’t informed prior that it wasn’t open breakfast wasn’t being served when we woke up had to eat elsewhere

Outside the room the facilities were very tired. And the restaurant hardly lived up to that name - more like a works canteen. What a waste of a great position on the river.
the room was very good, but the first night we couldn't control the a/c and it was very cold. The in-house handyman quickly fixed it in the morning.
